Hi, Can I ask some advice in regards database solutions and content management solutions.? Do you have a philosophy on what is the best for databases - ASP, JSP, Cold fusion, PHP, etc. My company website site is going to be rebuilt and I am the lucky one to do this but I am unsure of the needs and complexity of the project, and what would be the best base code. Do you have any thoughts in this area? The site requires functionality...

Is there an accepted strategy/design for database password management? Multiple asp.net web applications all talking to the same database. Each web app is on a separate machine and connectivity between machines is not guaranteed. ***SQL Server authentication is required.*** We currently store the username and password in each web.config file. New regulations require our clients to update their database passwords periodically. Rather...

I seem to be having errors creating and accessing an SQL database. Unfortunatley, I am brand new to SQL setup and administration issues so this really is not my area of expertise. I know I had to install some type of IIS component to run databases from Visual Studio 2003. Since then, I've installed Visual Studio 2005. I know VS 2005 has some component so that IIS is not required. Here's the two errors:

Hi, I have just finished reading some tutorials on C, I am wondering how I could improve my skill. Is there any advice? Is reading others' codes the best way? If so, what type of codes are suitable for novice? The ones in fsf freed software directory? I have been reading quite a few books on the programming language C, but when I tried to start a project of my own, I find myself to be incompetent. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

I am working on creating a stock management database for a small company. The company receives the merchandise from a handful of suppliers and stocks it before it is sent to the customers – retail outlets. The company works on a concession basis – i.e. the customers do not pay for the delivered goods but sell it on and then take a percentage of the sales. The goods delivered to the retailers can be considered to be “in stock” at the...

This is kind of a cross forum problem. I am trying to Connect to database by clicking on: Tools Connect To Database Select: Microsoft SQL Server (SqlClient). However, there are no server listed when I click on Refresh. I know that 2 instances exist. I see them Management Studio. I think this is preventing the listing of local instances using SMO. -- L. A. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
