Hi There,
I have a PHP script that sends an email with attachment and works great when
provided the path to the file to send.
However this file needs to be on the same server as the script.
I want to develop a webpage where people can send attachments that are
stored on their local PC.

Q: How should I handle file upload?
A: File uploading requires HTML form of content type
"multipart/form-data". The file content has to be POSTed/submitted via
the form and once the file is uploaded, it will be available at the
"upload_tmp_dir" (usually /tmp) directory. Then you may move that file
to another directory using move_uploaded_file(); file name will be
available in the superglobal $_FILES.

Hello,
I have an ASP.NET webpage that uses an instance of
System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputFile for uploading files to our
server. I came across the documentation at MSDN for upping the
filesize limit, once I saw the behavior of the page bombing with files
bigger than 4 MB. So far so good.
But the situation I'm coming across is that there doesn't seem to be
an elegant way of recovering from a user attempting to upload files

How do I tell the user he has tried to upload a file which is too big...
1. when the httpRuntime.maxRequestLength has been exceeded and
2. when the uploaded file is under then httpRuntime.maxRequestLength
For point 1. it would be good to at least display a nice error page. IE
seems to just display a blank page.

I am not a developer, but I work with several and am posting this for
them. We are trying to determine whether it is possible to check the
size of a file before a user uploads it.
Everything I've read suggests that this is impossible (or at least very
difficult) in PHP, and this makes sense for a server-side language.
What gives me pause, however, is the fact that when a user tries to
upload a file larger than the max file...

Hi All,
I have an HTML File upload control and I want to check the size of uploaded file by the user at the time of uploading. If size exceeds 25MB, then it shows the confirmation message that "File size exceeds 25MB. Do you want to continue anyway". If user clicks on OK button then the file is uploaded else not.
I found many solution but all have some limitations.
