Just wondering how you go about changing the value of a session cookie
via javascript?
I have a PHP page that sets a session cookie when it first loads. I'd
like to be able to change the value of that session cookie in response
to a button click in a form, without resubmitting the page.

I have a multi-page site that I want to be able to resume at the same
page if the user leaves and comes back later (say, days later). I'm
thinking that I'll set a cookie as each page is displayed and when the
main/first page displays, I'll look for the cookie and open the page it
names. If a new version of the site omits a page that used to exist or
if the cookie somehow becomes corrupt, I don't want to display an error

data... i have several pages that check to see if a valid userID session
exists, and if not, send them to a Login.aspx page (where a userID session
is generated upon successful login). my pages are user specific, so each
page will load data specific to that user (hence the need to maintain a

I am trying to perform site login using values from a cookie, but for some
weird reason the cookie is being destroyed after the browser window is
closed. I checked the browser settings for the cookies, and there is nothing
there that terminates cookies uopn browser close. The following is a sample

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set

This if then statement only works if a cookie exists.
It fails if the cookie does not exist.

Hi,
I have a asp.net page that checks if any one of the two cookies exists. If
none of the cookies exist then redirect the user to login page.
Cookie “try” doesn’t exists. I can see that cookie “mode” exist, but for
some reason the following code fails to detect it and keeps redirecting user
to login.aspx page which it shouldn’t because the cookie “mode” exists
Can someone tell me what could be the problem?

I found a great cookie script below, but don't know how to make it also pass the values sent to the cookie, to a querystring as well for tracking purposes. Can anyone help? If there was a way to simply pass the values in a cookie to the querystring that would be even easier, but from what I've been able to tell, cookie values can't be passed to a querystring.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
