I'm trying to install various things via fink, in particular
numeric-py23.
The process stops with a dependency error:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of python23:
python23 depends on python23-shlibs (= 2.3-1); however:
Version of python23-shlibs on system is 1:2.3-1.

Is there a setting in the web.config that will enable page-output caching
for an entire site? All the documentation I find on output caching deals at
the page or sub-page level. I saw a couple posts on Usenet that made
reference to a "web.config" setting, but didn't actually state what it was.
I have a lot of pages I want to cache and would like to set it once instead
of each page.
Thanks,

Is there anyway within my web application that I can have all browser
caching turned off for all aspx pages sent by my IIS server? I need to have
all caching off in order for certain things to work properly, and I can't
always rely on the user disabling their cache settings at the browser level.

I'm trying to load an assembly of mine from a C# webforms page, but IIS
fails to load the page because of failed dependencies. My problem is that I
cannot for the life of me discover the dependency that is causing the
failure. I have verified that the assembly in question is loadable by a
small test EXE. Is there any way that I can debug the process at an earlier
stage, or retrieve more helpful error information that simple "The assembly...

I have two projects in one solution - a library and executable. Each
have a namespace such as:
ROOT.myapp.Functional
ROOT.myapp.UI
However, each cannot reference the other. myapp.UI is dependent on the
library but only sees ROOT.myapp.UI and vice versa. How do I get them
to see each other's namespace?

Hi:
I have written several web applications that obtain their connection
strings from the web.config file. This is very easy to use and it makes
it easy to move an app from development into production.
I'm in the process of writing a site that will have lots of traffic so
I'm trying to save resources everyplace that I can.
My question is - do the web.config app settings get loaded once when the

Hello,
I want to partial cache by using a UserControl.
Now I have a file dependency.
In msdn I see it is not possible to do it the same way as in a page.
The only information is to create a file dependency and assign it to
Dependency property.

Hi, I am new to this group. I am working on a peice of code which is
like:
1 windows class library project which needs a startup project (exe
generated by other project). It references this exe and lots of other
dll's. These dll's and exe are located in our clearcase VOBs, though
I
have a local copy of them which I reference from my project. I am
working on Visual Basic.Net 2005.
The problem is: everytime I run my project, though the...

Hi
I'm running an ASP.NET web application under IIS. I'm inserting a cache
object with a file based CacheDependency. I've noticed that when the file
changes the Cache object is not always immediately invalidated.
e.g. Cache.Insert("myobj", data, new CacheDependency(filePath));
When I make a change to the file 'filePath' and call the object from the
cache it is not null. I'm disposing of the FileStream object immediately

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
