I recently had the displeasure of looking at the code required to implement the pop-up menus used in a pulldown menu system for a webpage. The sheer amount of Javascript required was amazing and frankly revolting. It is as though the software "engineers" have been thrown out and replaced with "programmers". That is to say, it is a sophomoric hack job, a hideous kludge.

Drop-down menus are the hottest thing since Wonder Bread but . . . 1. Alot of people put them in the they-look-nice-but-you-cant-code-them-right-so-they-always-look-messed-up category (a la "frames"). Do you think this is true> 2. Some people think they take up too much KB. 3. Some people are worried that people who have javascript turned off wont be able to see them. What percent of web users have javascrips turned off? I thought it was...

Id like to create some list menus dynamically. The problem is that id like the option text to be different from the option values. For example... <script language=JavaScript> city = 'Los Angeles'; city = 'New York'; city = 'San Francisco'; city = 'London'; city = 'Paris';

Hi everyone, We're using an outside vendor to provide some content for our website, and they use the http_referer variable to verify their content is only viewed from subscribing customers. Anyway, we're using the mm_menu javascript menu for our web menus, and under only Internet Explorer it's not passing the http_referer -- which means any site of theirs we link to from the menu doesn't work. This works fine in Firefox, Mozilla, and...

Hi, I have got this Collapsible Menus, it uses combination of JavaScript and CSS. Javascript when executed changes the inital CSS settings to make the sub menu visable function toggleClamShellMenu(objectID) { var object = document.getElementById(objectID);

Is there an easy way to create a new browser window from C# and ASP.NET? I would just like to have a popup window without any menus or toolbars that would contain a high-res image. The low-res image would be in the main window and would have a button that when pressed brings up the "popup" window that has the high-res image. I would like the window to be re-used instead of creating yet another popup window if the user navigates to another...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
