I create controls and validators dynamically dependent on data at runtime.
I create the control then the relevant validator(s) for it assigning the Control.ID as the control to validate.
These controls and validators are then added to a table for display to the user.
This code did seem to work originally, but now does not amd I am stumped as to why. There have been some code
changes, but not to the methods below and I have pretty much...

Has anyone seen an example of a textbox server control that has
built-in client-side validation? I'd like to build a server control
that extends the System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox class to allow
javascript checks for things like valid e-mail addresses or phone
numbers (without having to add a separate control for validation).
One idea I did some work on was having the control implement the
IValidator interface and basically recreating...

Hi there,
If a control is disabled (enabled = false), will the validator controls associated with it automatically know not to carry out validation?
I have a page with a bunch of controls and depending on what is passed in through the querystring, I disable some of those controls in my code-behind. However, my validator controls still seem to be trying to validate the disabled controls.
Cheers :)

Hi guys,
I've a small problem with validators.
I'm building a single .aspx file that handles all my form posts. I need to
be using ASP.NET validators ( or subclasses thereof ), so what i do to
overcome the fact that i don't really know what sort of input controls I'm
working with is this:
1) I've got the form description in xml, so I know all the fields I'm

Dear NG,
I created a gridlike usercontrol. When clicking on a cell a textbox (or
other control, depending on the cell's editortype) is shown. When some other
control gets the focus, the textbox is hidden. So far, no problem.
But when the textbox is visible and, for instance, I click on a
toolbarbutton, the textbox' Lostfocus event is not fired. The situation
should be that wherever I click, apart from the cell or textbox itself, the...

I have a form that calls ShowDialog on a number of different forms at
different times. I want to be able to know anytime the form loses
focus. But Form.Focused isn't ever true once a control has focus and
Form.Leave does not fire when showdialog is called on another form.
Anyone have any idea how to capture the form losing focus?

The different Validation controls like RequiredFieldValidator,
RangeValidator etc. have a property named Display. This property can
have 3 values - Dynamic, Static & None. What's the difference between
the Dynamic Display & Static Display?
Also suppose a Form has 2 TextBoxes & both the TextBoxes have the
RequiredFieldValidator. The Form has a Button as well.
<form runat="server">
First Name: <asp:TextBox ID="txtFName" runat="server"/>

the Login1 control UserName textbox obtain SetFocus upon load of the .aspx

I have an Access application that I have created that collects data
from a scanner and from a weighting scale. The data from the scanner
are unique identifiers (barcodes) and the scanner is connected as a
keyboard wedge. The data from the scale are weights and are
collected
by com port using MScomm32.ocx.
A user will scan a barcode into a text box (linked to a table field)
and then weight a sample. The weight will be collected from...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
