Hi. Our inter/intranet server has just been upgraded to Windows Serve 2003, IIS6, running Sharepoint. I cannot now run even a "Hello World" ASP (not aspx/.net) script although static html displays fine. We have enabled ASP in IIS/Web Service Extensions but still nothing. There is no error msg, scripts just do not run. Are there furthe

Hi, We have a large web application, using ASP.NET/C# that runs quite happily on a Windows 2003 server under IIS, but when we install it on a server with sharepoint installed it keeps falling over with NullReference exceptions. These exceptions appear to be related to core objects such as base or HttpContext.

Hi, We are currently running VS.NET clients against a Windows 2000 server which has Frontpage server extensions; this means we can have teams of developers interacting on web applications from remote locations over HTTP without firewall issues. However, Frontpage extensions have now been discontinued and replaced by Windows Sharepoint Services (WSS) on Windows Server 2003. This means that if we want to be able to work "live" or...

Got a sample of MS's "Advisor Guide To Microsoft Access" in the mail today - accompanied by a sample "Advisor Guide To Microsoft SharePoint". I skimmed both, but the SharePoint explanation is too abstract - it's going right over my head. Can somebody explain, in simple/concrete terms what MS SharePoint is? -- PeteCresswell

I was advised by a Microsoft speaker at a local .Net conference that "SharePoint" had a lot to offer for asp.net developers. I've spent a few hours hunting down links on Sharepoint Services in Server2003 and also SharePoint Portal Server Product. Whenever I try to learn the details of what the SharePoint services have to offer for asp.net developers all roads lead to a video, recorded in 2003 that has to do with "asp.net" and sharepoint....

I got and read the first few chapters of Scot Hillers book on sharepoint 2007 for C# and it appears to address Portal server, which is expensive to license, and it appears to be a huge investment requireing several servers, active directory, lots of time, staffs of people, etc. I;m trying to understand the potential of using just WSS with asp.net to develop asp.net applications that can use WSS services and web parts to create useful...

I am having a heck of a time with accessing the Web Services for a particular site collection. I try to add a Web reference to VS2005 for example. http://URL/Sites/sites/MySite/Subsite/_vti_bin/lists.asmx The Web service is added with the Web Reference URL set correctly as shown above, but in the Lists.disco and Lists.wsdl the /sites/MySite/Subsite is always dropped in the IDE. Any thoughts?

I am in a new position and looking at the possibility of using Sharepoint for my database instead of the whole backend on the server, frontend on the workstations route. Does anyone have websites or other books they recommend? Any experiences? Roadblocks to avoid? Limits in functionality? Thanks in advance, Laura

Foreword: Our Sharepoint site runs off both Forms Based and Windows Authentication. That being said some users have dual accounts for both methods of authentication...but not all users. Each account has unique ID's but runs off different SSPs. Problem: Currently working on a tool that one piece (the one I need help with) is having issues adding users to a specified SharePoint group. I am getting a legitimate SPUser but when I try to add...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
