Hello Access gurus,
I'm helping out a friend who's a small business owner. The software he
uses to run his shop uses an Access backend. We recently had some huge
headaches w/DB corruption. We had to send the main mdb file back to
the vendor, who had to send it to an outside company in order to get it
fixed. When they did this, we were told that it could be days until
we'd get it back. We had a backup that was 3 days old at that...

Hello.
Could somebody explain the following situation:
I have a .mdb on my notebook with Windows XP SP2 and Access 2003. I prepared
..mde and tried to use it on another computer with Windows XP SP2 and Office
XP installed on it. An error "...Your VBA project is corrupted" appeared.
When I copy .mdb to that computer, instead of .mde, it works. If I then make
the .mde on that computer, it works! If I copy the .mde then to the first...

Hi There,
I have posted something previously regarding this issue, but I think I have
some more concise questions to ask, and would like to get further feedback
on this issue.
Firstly the background. I have a small ASP.NET application under
development. I'm using VS 2002 with Framework 1.1. One of the pages is a
"resources" page that contains a list-box of various RSS feeds I am
interested in surveying. As you select the different RSS...

There are a number of possible causes for viewstate errors, but in the
past month, I've seen four cases where the Checkpoint "Next
Generation" firewall caused this error. Here are the details:
This "intelligent" firewall can perform a cross-site scripting attack
check when you tell it there's a web server behind it, however, this
option appears to remove < and > characters from the form data
which breaks viewstate.
Known...

When I create a Web project and then try to add the files to it (Add
Existing Item), I get
this error message
"The folder http://localhost/FinWeb is no longer availabe"
In fact the folder and the virtual directory FinWeb both exist and project
compiles just fine, but I cannot add the existing files to it.
If I create a project with a different name (FinWeb2) it works fine.

Sometimes when I run or build (or save I think) one of several VB .NET CE
applications I get the above error. I then get a 'save file as' option to
change the 'myapp.vbdproj' file. If you keep the same name you get an
'already exists' error. If you choose to overwrite you get:
The file Pms_myapp.vbdproj has changed since you opened it. Would you like
to save the version you have open over the changes on disk? You then get the
following...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
