"The View State is invalid for this page and might be corrupted" can be caused by firewall

There are a number of possible causes for viewstate errors, but in the
past month, I've seen four cases where the Checkpoint "Next
Generation" firewall caused this error. Here are the details:

This "intelligen t" firewall can perform a cross-site scripting attack
check when you tell it there's a web server behind it, however, this
option appears to remove < and > characters from the form data
which breaks viewstate.

Known Workarounds:
- disable the cross-site scripting detection setting: go to the
checkpoint firewall's properties --> Host Node --> General Properties,
uncheck the Web Server checkbox.

- use a firewall without this "feechur"

Best regards!

I have a question that might have been asked before, but I have not been able to find anything via groups.google.com or any web search that is definative. I am writing an evolutionary AI application in C++. I want to use 32-bit integers, and I want the application to be able to save it's state in a portable fashion. The obvious choice would be to use the "long" type, as it is deined to be at least 32 bits in size. However, the...

When I create a Web project and then try to add the files to it (Add Existing Item), I get this error message "The folder http://localhost/FinWeb is no longer availabe" In fact the folder and the virtual directory FinWeb both exist and project compiles just fine, but I cannot add the existing files to it. If I create a project with a different name (FinWeb2) it works fine.

Hello, I know the rules for const handling in C++, but I'd like to ask what is the "right" way to use them, eg. when is it appropriate to make a member function const? This came across this question when I was thinking about implementation of a class implementing some lazy data structure or cache. The C++ rules allow among other possibilities making all member functions non-const, or making all member functions const and all members...

I've been bitten twice now by the same bug, and so I thought I would draw it to people's attention to try to save others the problems I've had. The bug arises when you copy code from a destructor to use elsewhere. For example, suppose you have a class Note. This class stores some text, as a linked list of lines of text. The destructor runs as follows: Note::~Note() {

A day or two ago, I wrote a quick ASPX page with a CS codebehind using Visual Studio .NET 2005 -- it worked, I saved it and closed the project. Today, I came back to the project, reopened the solution, and was greeted with the following error: ======================================================================== It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error...

Hi; We have our app up on a beta server. Sometimes people from outside the firewall get "The page cannot be displayed" when they try to access it. A couple of weird things about this: 1) If someone inside the firewall accesses it, that always works. 2) If someone inside the firewall accesses it, then the person outside can access it. It's as though an inside connection is needed to wake it up.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
