Windows and Forms Authentication

I am looking for a tutorial or code samples to create a cross between
Windows and Forms authentication. What we would like to do is utilize the
Windows authentication for loggin into an application, but be able to set
the user roles and permissions to various processes of the application in a
SQL database.

I have looked but I'm unable to find that wnyone else is doing this.
Perhaps I'm not using the right search parameters to catch it.

Please let me know if you are aware of anythign like this.

Thanks!

I am working a new application...well actually a series of applications for my company. They want internal users to be able to go to a site and everything regarding security is transparent, however we will have brokers and customers that also need to connect and will require a username and password. In this case we were going to store their credentials in a SQL database. Internal users will have the ability to access the same resources...

Hi, Is there anyway to mimic forms authentication's loginUrl and RedirectFromLoginPage functionality using Windows authentication? We are developing intranet sites using basic authentication and we want to always redirect a user to a default 'splash' or welcome page that is set to anonymous if they are not logged in. This page would have

Hi, I've configured a web app to use windows authentication and also set up two separate subdirectories to use forms authentication. It appears to work fine but I have never seen a sample that demonstrates both in the same web.config and I don't like assuming i've done this correctly and securely. Please take a look at the following from my web.config and let me know what you think(its not the full config-- just stripped down to its...

Dear all, I built a Web Form application to start and stop a Windows Service remotely. I successful tested the application on Windows 2000 server + IIS. I must include the ASPNET user to the Administration group (on server side) to have the necessary authorization to start a Windows Service (I don't understand why "Power User" rights are not enough to do the same thing) Although I'm able to start a service using windows 2000 server...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
