Hi,
I am new to this Forum. Thanks in advance for any kind help.
In the following HTML code, when I change the value of one text field
then click "Modify" button, if the validation fails a message will
popup and the cotent of the form should NOT be submitted. (The actual
code connects to the database at the backend so I can check if the
value is submmited).

information. Each field has validation logic in the Validating event. If
the input is not valid, the control's value is replaced with the last value
it had before the user changed it. Pretty typical
Now, the user types some invalid value and clicks OK. The user gets a

I am creating a simple .aspx page to add some fields with validation.
I have used different .NET validations like REquiredFieldValidator,

Hi,
I am doing a project which uses asp.net to develop its forms. The form
uses validation web controls to validate the data entered in text
boxes. When Cancel Button is pressed which is to exit from the current
page and go to the previous page, the validation controls activate
because data has not been entered, and the user cannot cancel. I have
used Response.Redirect(webpage) but the validations activates and

for Cancel.
Now i also have some RequiredFieldValidators on this Form and i only want to
Execute those once i click on Save but not when i click Cancel.
Also for the Cancel button i am executing some code at the Server to take

I am having a slight problem that hopefully, someone can help me fix.
I have a form on a page. Many items on the form have validation controls
attached.
Also on this form are linkbuttons which must not cause validation. I have
found a setting "causeValidation" to disable the validation.

I have written a validatedTextBox class which inherits
from textBox. I've added code which validates the input
text using the onValidation event.
The problem I have is that when I have input invalid data
and then click on the x in the upper right corner of the
form to close the form or when I click on a Cancel button
on the form I would like to not do the validation in that

My mate has a strange problem regarding the ESC key and validation. When he
hits the Cancel button on his form, the form does not validate. This is
correct behaviour of course. However, he also wants this same behaviour when
hitting ESC on the keyboard.
It was my understanding that when you assign a button to a form's
CancelButton property you automatically gained this functionality. However,

I have a text box which i validate at LostFocus Event. My problem is
that if user click at cancel it also validates this thex box and
brings a error message. I do go about it in that when it is cancel
button click then it should not validate the text box and instead
unload the form.
