I am hoping someone from Microsoft could shed some insight into this
question.
Why did microsoft decide to use a verb based naming convtion for events
rather such as Close and Click for rather than prepending them with On as in
OnClose and OnClick?
The way it is now, I encounter a lot of naming conflicts/ambiguity when
trying to follow Microsoft's reccommened approach in naming my own events.

Please forgive the simplicy of this question. I have the following code
which attempts to determine the color of some text and set other text
to match that color. It works fine in Firefox, but does nothing in IE.
I'd be greatful for any assistance. Also, if I will have problems the
code on Opera or Safari, I'd appreciate any pointers--I don't have a
Mac to test Safari.

We've been unable to get events working going from C# to VJ++. We
think that the C# component is being exposed properly as a
ConnectionPoint, and the Advise() from the VJ++ side seems to be
working, because the delegate on the C# side has 1 item in its
invocation list after the Advise(). However when we try to make the

Is there any way I can get the application path (the one returned by
Request.ApplicationPath) in the Application_Start method in
Global.asax? Request is not valid there. On a related note, is there a
way to get it from a static method in an aspx page, or in the class

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
