Requirements for clients of ASP.Net site with Crystal Reports

Hello all
I know that while deployment of the desktop .Net applications some additional
Crystal dll-libraries and licence should be installed with application on
a client machine. Is there any requirements for clients of ASP.Net web-site
with Crystal Reports? Or it will be enough to install additional Crystal
libraries and licence on a server

The requirements for the client are a computer with an internet connection,
and a browser.

Hello Kevin,
Does it mean that when user will open any Crystal Report for a first time
it will NOT offer to download and install some activeX control or something
else to show it?
The requirements for the client are a computer with an internet
connection, and a browser.

Hi Alex,

If it required an ActiveX Control on the client, I would have told you.
Here's a helpful article on the subject:

In relation to above, I have an ASP.Net application whereby I want users to be able to download reports to their machine in Crystal. So each machine will need Crystal. Do I need a license for each client PC? I want the report to include graphics. Can I do this in Crystal Reports .NET ? I know this can be done in PDF.

Sorry if posting this to the wrong group, but do you know of any asp.net hosting vendor with support for Crytal Reports? Apparently they do not exist due to high licensing costs at $25k per cpu. Certainly someone must be offering this? Thanks. -- Jay

I know this may not be the best NG for this, but I feel you guys know more about this than any of the other NGs. I need to build several simple reports (over 50 of them and they get their data from sql server) and I was wondering whish of these is the better tool .. We're still not sure if they'll be loaded from an existing VB6 application or if I'll have to make a separate module for them (in .Net). In general, which is the better tool?...

I am getting mixed messages from the asp.net website hosting providers - some say they do not support Crystal Reports due to a $25,000 per cpu licensing fee, others say all I need to do is install Crystal Reports XI (about $500) on a dedicated server and it will run fine. Will Reports developed with the embeded Crystal Reports in VS 2005 run in a Crystal Reports XI environment? -- Thanks

I am brand new to using Crystal Reports and am trying to generate a report based on a custom object - in another project. I have a layered design, with all my business objects in a seperate project. I created a new project as part of the solution, added a reference to the project containing my business objects, created a datasource that points to one of the objects and then tried to create CR based on the object. The data tab (in the CR...

It seems to hang on the command. When we open the application an peruse the screens without opening up a report (using crystal reports), the application and access db closes fine. But as soon as we run a report and then close the report and...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
