Hello,
I could really use some help. I'm trying to install a python program
on centos4 x86_64. When I run 'python setup.py' it ends up in
/usr/lib64/python2.3/site-packages/ instead of
/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages. It's a problem because the program
I'm trying to install is a dependency for something that is only
32bit. How can I specify a 32bit install? What I've tried so far:
When I try 'python setup.py build --build-lib...

How do I influence the platform type during install? Could you look
at this and tell me what I'm doing wrong? It's still using
information from get_platform instead of using my preference.
# python setup.py install
--install-purelib=lib.linux=i686-2.3
--install-lib=/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages
running install
running build
running build_py

Due to an earlier posting I read in this newsgroup regarding Office 2007
beta, I downloaded it. After I DL'd it, I got an invitation from MS to
get WinVista.
I am now wondering if, since both are betas, it is best to buy a new
computer? My current computer setup is a Pentium 4, 1 gig memory, 2.66
ghz, 60-80 gig disk drive.
MS's requirements for a WinVista computer is

I have to install .NET framework 3.0. I already have .NET Framework 1.1
installed on my machine.
I don't want to remove framework 1.1 since some of the critical
applications are using it.
While installing .NET framework 3.0 I got the error:
"Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 x86 has encountered a problem during
setup. Setup did not complete correctly."

This is happening on a WinXP Pro SP2 machine with Visual Studio 2005 & local
IIS as the debugger. Everything was working fine this morning (and had been
working for weeks/months prior). After a trip to windows update (where I
installed IE 7, .NET 3.0, VS 2005 SP1 and misc updates for XP such as
timezone changes & a new sound driver) I can no longer debug my web app on
IIS. I now receive this message:
"Unable to start debugging on the...

Hi,
I am one of those questionable people that started with Vista (Home
Premium).
Not because I think it is a ready/steady OS, but partly out of
curiousity, and partly because I needed to work on an old project that
happens to run on IIS6/W2000/MSSQL7, but my W2000 machine couldn't
handle the size of the database in question anymore. :-(
My new Vista machine is 5 years younger and is a lot faster, so I
started to figure out how to use...

Dear all,
I installed Vista SP1 on my Vista x64 Enterprise machine. Now my
Visual Basic 2005 (.Net 2) does not behave correctly. It appears that
'for loops' have a problem of some sort. For example, I have a 'for
loop' to fill a dropdown control with numbers from x to z. Now that
dropdown stays empty. This behavior did not happen before SP1. I do
not get any error messages. Everything works perfectly on WinXP.
Anyone has any idea if...

I'm attempting to install Python 2.5.2 (python-2.5.2.amd64.msi) on my
Vista SP1 x64 system, but the installer always crashes with a "Windows
Installer has stopped working" error after clicking Next on the
initial screen.
I've tried the following so far:
1. x86 and x64 versions
2. Manually reinstalling Windows Installer 4.5
3. Forcing msiexec to run as administrator

Have any of you managed to install dot net 3.0 on Vista?
Thank you,

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
