I'm trying to read up on the rfc's that govern form inputs. Much of
what I'm reading is stuff I didn't know before and some of it is
alarming. This one left with me questions:

Is this (below) addressed to me as a web designer, or is this
addressed to the makers of web browsers? Identifying the type of file

Good afternoon.
The entire task that I'm trying to achieve is to allow a user to browse and
upload multiple files simultaneously, hiding the Browse button of <input>
tags of type="file" and replacing it with a button of my own background
color and text.
The file paths I'd like displayed in a textarea and then the files uploaded
at once.

Just reading from a previous thread about multiple uploads.
I wanted to use script to create multiple input file elements that put the
path in as a default (or something like that) based on ASP code. My problem
was that the input file value property is readonly and there is no default
value.
The thing is you can cut and paste a path manually (ctrl-c,v) but I couldn't
work out how to do it from code. I thought that anything that you...

Here's the problem: I've got an ASP.NET (C#) web page that has a single
<input type=file> control on it for uploading a file. The way the code
works is that the uploaded file is then parsed for the path and file name.
I then save the posted file to a temporary directory on the web server (for
later processing). I then open up a file stream and stream reader and read
