Hi all,
I have a website which I want to make multi-language capable. For
this, I need to create a local resource for each .aspx page (here:
Default.aspx). In the folder containing the page, I create the
App_LocalResour ces folder in which I created the Default.aspx.re sx-
file for the aspx file. Loading and localizing resources works fine
for text resources, but it doesn't for images.
In Page_Load() of Default.aspx:
Image1.ImageUrl = Page.ClientScri pt.GetWebResour ceUrl(this.GetT ype(),
"image1");
I tried Image1.GetType( ) or typeof(Bitmap) instead of this.getType()
and I tried "Default.aspx.r esx.image1(.gif )" for "image1". It does not
work. The image is not displayed. However, text loaded from the same
resource file IS displayed.
Is it actually possible using image resources from an
App_LocalResour ces folder? Or do I have do create an extra WebResource
project like it is described in http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/MyWebResourceProj.asp
?

Hi all,
Don't know how many out there actually use HTA's, but I do, and am
looking at protecting javascript code associated with one I look after.
This HTA runs of a network drive, not a webpage.
Basically I've read that it's possible to compile js files and the like
to a "Resource file", and then access it using a call to the res://
protocol.

When handling resources in Python, where the scope of the resource is
known, there seem to be two schools of thought:
(1) Explicit:
f = open(fname)
try:
# ...
finally:
f.close()

I am running into troubles with resource usage of our app on Win2k and above
systems. In several places, I have seen it said that the WinNT model only
limits resources to available memory. However, I have seen errors caused by
running out of resources on a machine with over 1GB of free memory (running
Win2k server), as well as on my...

I'm having trouble grasping how ASP.NET correctly locates resources.
There is plenty of documentation on this subject but some things are
not clear at all.
In my ASP.NET application, I have multiple web forms. When you compile
the application, it creates a DLL. If you view this DLL using ILDASM
(the manifest), it shows info about the resources stored in the DLL.
There is essentially an embedded resource "section" for each web form.
The...

I'm having a real hard-time to work out the hell of the statelite
assembly.
1) At start,
the official MSDN stated to use:
.... new ResourceManager(strBaseName, Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly());
and the resource file should be named as <basename>.resx
It didn't work (in WinApp).

i'm working with translators that just want to translate "web pages" and not
deal with resource files. i'd like to have a file structure that looks sort
of like this:
/ <- root directory where all .cs files live
/en-US/ <- english specific directory which contains aspx and ascx files
only
/jp-JP/ <- japaneses specific directory which contains aspx and ascx files

Hi,
we used to have a resource file in VB6 and use this as a provider according
to the language a user chose
(English, Dutch, Spanish,....), his interface thus.
In this resource file we had al labelcaptions, texts for messageboxes,
etc... stored,
so when the user chose for an interface in English all menu's etc.. were in

I have the latest version of Visual Studio 2008 Professional, which
allows you to create resource files (this is the .resx file, no?),
unlike the Express version, which does not.
I am trying to cut and paste code that MSDN recommends for playing a
simple wav file from inside an embedded file, like presumeably the
'resources' file .resx is. I want to embed the .wav file in a
'resource file' since I don't want the user storing the file on...

I have a resource file (*.resx) with several images in it. I am having

trouble using String resources, but since the ImageUrl property expects a
String, not an image, I am having trouple here. The only solution I can come
up with is to create an extra Page that takes a querystring and returns an...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
