Good current ASP.NET book?

Good current ASP.NET book?

Something for a beginner to advanced, with good code/design practice. Prefer
VB.NET.

seems most of them are out dated?

Thanks,

Schneider

I realize this is a Microsoft newsgroup but my favorite ASP.NET book is
published by Apress, entitled "Beginning ASP.NET 2.0 in VB 2005: From Novice
to Professional" by Matthew MacDonald. ISBN: 1-59059-621-8

I find the Apress books all pretty good.

Not sure if there is a .NET 3.0 book yet. The 2.0 books should still be
fine, however.

hi, I am new to python (but not to programming - have programmed in many other languages like C++/lisp/perl etc.) and I would like to buy a good book. The local bookstore has no books about Python, so I cannot look into a book and see whether I like it. That is why I turned to this newsgroup for advise. I would like a book with a very complete and correct description of the language and the built-in features, and things like how to...

Hello All, I am planning to buy a book on DB2. I searched Google and found lot of praise for "DB2 developers guide" by Craig Mullins. But when I check out the book in a book store I found 3rd edition of the book which talks about latest features of DB2 UDB 5. But the current version is 8. The book looked very comprehensive but I am afraid that I may miss out

Hi all, During my degree, BEng (Hons) Electronics and Communications Engineering, we did C programming every year, but I never kept it up, as I had no interest and didn't see the point. But now I really want to get back into it as I see a point with GNU/Linux. I want to get my old skills back and write something or help on some projects etc. I need some good books. I used to have one called "A Book On C", but sold it,

Hello, I am a seasoned Classic ASP programmer who is interested in learning ASP.NET. I bought a book (Que's Special Edition Using ASP.NET) which is complete rubbish, and would like a recommendation of something better. I have a very basic idea of how ASP.NET works having spent a couple of days playing with it, but it's still a large amount of fog with only a little clarity. I would like something that explains what's going on

Sometime back I bought a couple books on Dreamweaver and Flash for the CS2 Suite and along with it bought a book for Php, Foundation Php for Dreamweaver 8. I read the Dreamweaver and Flash books but never have read the Php book. Now that I was ready to I just upgraded to the CS3 suite. My question is, is it important to look for a newer Php book to use with this CS3 suite or would the current book be ok and up to date? Should I look...

Crockford's JavaScript, The Good Parts (a book review). This shall perhaps be the world's shortest book review (for one of the world's shortests books). I like Douglas Crockford (because I am a crabby old man too; plus he _is_ smart and good).. But, how can he write a book on the good parts of JavaScript and not mention functions that address CSS & DOM? Weird. It's like

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
