http://www.JavascriptToolbox.com/bestpractices/
I started writing this up as a guide for some people who were looking for
general tips on how to do things the 'right way' with Javascript. Their code
was littered with document.all and eval, for example, and I wanted to create
a practical list of best practices that they could easily put to use.
The above URL is version 1.0 (draft) that resulted. IMO, it is not a
replacement for the FAQ,...

I've got a web form with a number of dropdowns, combos, etc.
When the user submits the form, I want to redirect them to another form, but
I need to pop it in another window. So, I have a hyperlink on the form
whose NavigateURL gets refreshed whenever the user makes a selection
(...NavigateUrl = '<%#DataBinder.Eval(Container, "GetRedirect()") %>'...) -
but it's too slow to do all those round-trips!
I understand that in the code-behind...

I have a web form, with c# code-behind.
I have a listbox on the form, bound to a dataset.
I want to have 2 buttons/hyperlinks/etc. beside the listbox.
When they are clicked, I want to launch a popup form, passing it some
information from the listbox (record id) and the linked information.
If I could show the data in place of the page showing, I know how to get the
data and use Response.Redirect().
Since it needs to be a popup, I know...

let say i have a web form with a button on it ... when i click the button, it will pop up one small window to allow me to save a pdf file, everything is done using code behind as below ... however, in javascript, i have set a global variable as a flag to indicate the number of times user click the buttion (let say flagNoOfClick), when user clicks the button once, it will set the flag (flagNoOfClick) to "true" (by using javascript). So, when user...

Group,
How would I go about firing a JavaScript method from a C# method in the aspx code behind file? It seems as though this could not be done since JavaScript is executed from within the Web browser and C# is executed on the server.
Thanks for your consideration,
Jim

Hi,
I'm new to ASP.NET and I am not sure if I should start using the code behind
paradigm or if I should just go with traditional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Although Code Behind seems nice, the .NET Studio IDE is not very good at
building templates and such as is Dreamweaver. Furthermore, it's always a
good idea to really understand what is happening behing the scenes in case
the code ever needs to move to jsp, php or some other page...

I have a JavaScript that fills in a text box with a date/time. I then need
to access it my code behind code. If I make the input field runat=server, I
can get at it by code behind but JavaScript can't see it. If I don't have
the runat=server, then JavaScript can get at it but I can't get at it in the
code behind.
Can anybody tell me how to make this work correctly ?
Thanks.

Hi there,
how are you colleagues? I try to set a linkaddress in code behind for
a <asp:hyperlinkserver control. but I think I have some syntax
problem. I don't know how to fix it.
What's wrong with the code below? I have put a hyperlink on the aspx
page. And I add the attributes of the hyperlink in my code-behind. I
set the attributes in code behind because I need the AddressGuid ID
value. I concattenate the value and make an URL...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
