Mobile - Web Nested Application

Hi all,

I am developing web application as well as mobile application using C#
asp.net 2.0. Mobile application folder is nested inside web
application virtual directory. I have to make mobile folder as virtual
directory to have web.config. This is because i have to modify
"sessionSta te" key inside mobile folder so that cookieless session can
be enabled. Is there any way to avoid creation of virtual folder can
be avoided for mobile folder.

I want to avoid it, as VS.net dont allow me to work on files in nested
virtual directories, unless it is opened as new project. also i want
the complete solution to be handled together, and dont want to add
reference of web project to mobile project.

Also this will be little heck when we have to deploy on shared hosting
and provider does not create the virtual directory.

please let me know if there is any resolution for that.

best regards,

Hello to all, I'm looking into providing mobile access to a web based administrative application currently running on .Net with MS SQL. The current architecture only supports the latest Internet Explorer browser due to elaborate dependencies on client side XML libraries, so I'm told. My problem is lack of knowledge of mobile client capabilities. I need insight into which architecture to use, more on this follows. The requirements for...

Can we develop mobile web applications using Visual Web Developer express edition? and use it commercially? 2. When we develop a mobile web application, can the application also be accessed using a desktop other than the mobile devices, PDAs etc 3. Is there a difference between compact devices and mobile devices. Do we have to take care of this...

Hi. I have Mobile site that I'm building. My problem is that all of my pages are built as Mobile ASPX pages, but occasionally, I need to use controls which are not mobile. Most specifically, the "FileUpload" control. Now, most phones don't support this feature, but some do and for them I need to place and use this control. How can I insert a FileUpload control on a Mobile ASPX? Alex

We have a C# windows mobile form application designed for PockedtPC 2003 developed in VS2003.NET with .NET 1.0/1.1. Some of the mobile devices have been replaced with Windows Mobile 5.0. As a result we have re-built the application in VS2005 with .NET 2.0. We can deploy the application to the mobile device OK via active-synch. However as our mobile devices are widely distributed the normal way of loading the application is to FTP...

Hi all, Hope someone can help with this - I am tearing my hair (singular) out. I developed an application using asp.net 2.0 and Mobile Controls. Up till now I have been testing it with a Pocket PC which runs a version of Internet Explorer. I'm trying to use the application now on a Samsung SGH-F700W which uses a web browser called NetFront 3.3 (this is being supplied by Vodafone in the UK as their answer to the iPhone). On several...

I saw a MS demo a few years back where they developed a web page and the software automatically rendered it for different devices. Is this what I'm looking for? http://www.asp.net/mobile/ Much of the info looks old. I have a MSDN account where can I download it or is it already in VS 2008 and I just don't know how to find it? I'm mainly interested in having simple pages render in Internet Explorer

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
