"Visual Studio 2005" First WebSite - Need Suggestions

Hello,

I have Visual Studio 2005 and am developing my first web site. I see
TreeViews, ReportViewers, etc. but I'm not sure which approach that I
should choose. Let me tell you what I'm going to do and maybe you can
offer suggestions:

1) I'm going to have a bunch of articles that I'm going to be posting
to this website.
2) I need some sort of "tab" or "tree" structure to the left that
will hold the "title" of these articles.
3) When the user clicks on one of these titles, the article will
appear in the main display page to the right.
4) At the end of these articles, I will have a command button that
will navigate the user to another web site.
5) I would like to offer a page for an email so that the user can
send comments, etc.

At some point I would like to expand this Web Site with other
features, such as a blog, etc. But this is all I need for now.

What should I use? TreeView, ReportViewer, HTML, etc. Does anyone
have some example code they can send me?

My email is sa***********@y ahoo.ca

Thanks
Sam

If you are at this early stage of the game where you really don't have a clue
as to how to start, I'd recommend that you download one or more of the
"Starter Kit" reference applications from the asp.net web site. This will
enable you to instantly see how the pros are doing their stuff, and to be
able to quickly start emulating (and possibly even improving) their work.

BTW, it is not customary to expect newsgroup readers to respond to a post
via emails. All questions are answered on the group itself, it's up to you to
check the thread for answers.

here is an error I get when I open my class library project: "The class ResultsTable can be designed, but is not the first class in the file. Visual Studio requires that designers use the first class in the file. Move the class code so that it is the first class in the file and try loading the designer again." What does that mean, "the class xxx can be designed"? thanks,

When I try to open a solution that was opening just dandy last week, I get the error "Visual Studio .NET has detected that the specified Web server is not running ASP.NET version 1.1" I HAVE ALREADY TRIED RUNNING aspnet_regiis -i (SEVERAL TIMES) WITH *NO* LUCK

It will go ahead and configure IIS to use asp.net 2.0 for your existing asp.net sites resulting in the fact that you can no longer debug your asp.net v1.1.4... applications with visual studio.net 2003. I have spent some time wondering why i could no longer debug my existing apps. right after my instalation completed and at my big surprise, IIS has "configured" them to use asp.net 2. When i manually corrected this, things started working...

After a very rapid entrance into the Python, I have immediately looked for a good IDE. Komodo and Wing IDE look very good and I think they are enough. But now, I am searching for a Pyhton environment which should look like Delphi / Kylix, Borland's C++ builder or Allegro Common Lisp. I have found a plug-in named "Visual Python" and this name naturally maked me happy. But is it really "Visual" and does it provide a WYSIWYG rapid development...

Hi, In my VS.NET 2005, if I choose Build Clean Solution, the BIN folder is not touched. Shouldn't it delete all the dll and pdb files in that folder first? Instead, I'm finding I have to do it manually. Also, when I change from Debug to Release, all the pdb files remain in the bin folder. Shouldn't these be deleted automatically? Please let me know what the "Clean Solution" is supposed to do (if it's

Hi all I have a problem running Visual Basic 2005 (.NET) programs in other computers different of that where I have Visual Studio installed. I know I have to install the .NET framework in the other computers and so I did. I don't have problems with simple programs. They run nicely. The problem is with programs that use Excel files. In fact with just adding Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to the program hampers it of running in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
