Crystal Reports Bug in VS2005

Has anyone had this happen to them?

I'm writing an application in C# using VS2005. Part of my application
requires that I use Crystal Reports to make some reports to print out.
Anyway, here's the buggy part...

While working on a Crystal Report in VS2005, I'll drag my data fields
onto the report and try to line them up as best as I can. Then I'll
drag and select the fields I want to line up, right-click, choose
Align, then Bottom (or Top, etc...). Then VS2005 goes into a fit and
crashes.

I've had the same thing happen both at home and at work and I can
repeat the same error every time. My event log says:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Visual Studio
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 15/01/2007
Time: 10:29:26 PM
User: N/A
Computer: ATH2900
Description:
Faulting application devenv.exe, version 8.0.50727.762, stamp 45716759,
faulting module craxddrt.dll, version 10.2.0.1111, stamp 43068582,
debug? 0, fault address 0x002a1193.

etc...

I would have expected an error like this to have been handled in the
recent Service Pack, but I guess not. I could have sworn that I saw
something about a patch/upgrade from Business Objects but I can't seem
to find any information.

Any hints? Comments? Work-arounds?

hi wayne,
i just came across this same problem. i posted a workaround on my
blog (http://tim.mackey.ie/
FIXVS2005Crashe sRandomlyWhenUs ingCyrstalRepor ts.aspx), basically you
have to close any Crystal reports and safely restart VS. this way the
CR activeX control doesn't get a chance to load (and crash VS).

hope this helps

Hi, I created a ASP.NET crystal reports web site in VS 2005. I wanted to display the data in a DataSet in the Crystal Reports viewer control. I am getting the DataSet from another dll. The documentation says that I need to add a new item - Crystal report, with a blank report in the project which will automatically create a class say CrystalReport1 in my project (if the name of the crystal report added is CrystalReport1.rpt). I should...

I have installed VS 2005 and dowloaded VS2005 Walkthroughs for Crystal Reports. I was not able to complete the walkthrough. The VB Code appears to be incomplete in fact when I tried to build the solution using the example code provided it failed in the same areas as I did. I would like to complete and learn from the tutorials however I am at a stand still.

I've just developed an Windows application that uses Crystal Reports (v10 ? - the version that ships with VS2005). Whilst the application works fine - reports can be viewed on the development machine, when I create a setup project (which includes the Crystal reports merge module), and deploy this setup file to another machine (a fresh install of WinXP Pro with SP2), the reporting section does not work... Hi, I would like to use Crystal Reports (The verison that comes with VS2005 professional) in a commercial Windows application which I am making. Can I redistribute the Crystal Reports .dlls with my application so end users who purchase my application can view the reports? Is this against the license, I did a search but there seems to be alot of different versions of Crystal Reports. Thanks

I was intending to use an XCOPY install for a VS2005 C# WinForms app but when I copied the files and ran the app on a clean machine it failed when it needed Crystal Reports. Can you not use XCOPY deployment if you have Crystal Reports dependencies? Is there an available Crystal redistribution package I can run before doing my XCOPY deployment? TIA

I can't seem to be able to prevent a Crystal Reports formula to evaluate an expression when the report contains no records to show. Here's the formula (DateTransferred is a DateTime column): If IsNull({MyReportDataSet.DateTransferred}) Then " " //empty string Else If ({MyReportDataSet.DateTransferred} = CDate("1/1/1900")) Then " " //also pring an empty string - 1/1/1900 means "no date was

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
