TableAdapters Visual Studio 2005

Ive been playing with these over the last few hours and Im quite impressed
how useful they are.

However, I was using the query builder to set up a new query for my adapter
and found there was no grouping button like you get in SQL Enterprise
Manager query builder.

Until . . .

I manually put the grouping statements in and hey presto, the grouping
column appeared just like in SQL EM. Dont know if anyone has found this so
far or if any use to anyone, but I thought I would mention it.

Also . . . .

I was hoping that there would be some sort of refresh/alert facility to tell
you that the table/view of origin had changed. So I deleted a field and
ended up with an exception. One of the things ive allways hated about
working with data is all the damn adjustments you have to make when you
alter a tables design. Maybe next time Microsoft ?

Hello, I am starting 2 new projects to deliver in January 2006. I want to create them in Asp.Net 2.0 using Visual Studio 2005. All my clients web sites are Visual Studio 2003 projects in Asp.Net 1.1 / VB.NET. These web sites use Access Databases and NOT Microsoft SQL 2000. In the future I will need to make a few changes now and then to this web sites.

I have a class library that contains a number of TableAdapters and I'm using this from a web application. Is there a way of getting the TableAdapters to use the connectionstrings defined in web.config. From the MSDN documentation it seems like it's possible to override settings with values in a config file for winform applications. Is the same possible for web applications. I have tried to add a connectionstring (under the...

I have multiple tables that have the same structrues that I need to switch at run-time. for example, I have table A, B and C, they all have the same structure. At run-time, the GUI will determin which table I'll be queriying on. I can build the Datasets and TableAdapters at design time, but I can't seem to access the (select) commands at run-time. If I do, I can just replace the talbe name and it shoud query on the table I have...

I have a 2 form project in VS2005 that now hangs whenever I try to do anything with the second form. This seems to have started when I added some SQL tables from a Pervasive v.9 database using the Pervasive ODBC driver. The devenv.exe process hangs and will not respond with about 50% cpu usage and about 100 megs of memory used. I am running it on an Athlon 64 bit dual core with 32 bit Windows XP pro. I have 2 megs of memory so I don't...

When using the VS Wizards to create a DataSet I select tables. Then, I use the TableAdapter Configuration Wizard to modify the underlying queries that retreive the data. What I'm wonder is, does this TableAdapter work in the same manner as a SQL Server Stored Procedure or View? Or, does it work like MS Access where it pulls all the data over and then filters it? Or, should I be making my data sources for the TableAdapters stored...

in reference to the below thread: http://bytes.com/groups/net-asp/344508-tableadapters-web-config does this issue still exist in visual studio 2008? I guess having a build environment with rewrite scripts for the project settings changing the database connection string during compile time is another way to alleviate this issue.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
