I am absolutely bewildered by now by the Microsoft.Samples SSPI and Security
assemblies. I've been trying to set these up in a very straightforward
harness in the way that I'd like to be able to use them. No IIS. Use TCP,
binary. Standard server example with a console host and console client. .NET
1.1, windows XP. (I tried posting to the remoting newsgroup, no answers in
the last couple days, trying here in hopes that more people watch this...

is it bad practice for vendors to supply a machine level
security.config file in an msi package with their installations to
chnage security settings. Would i be right in thinking that this msi (
generated by the .net config tool) will overwrite any other settings
previously defined...and should be controlled centrally.

Hi,
I'm using PHP 4.4.4 on Apache 2 on Fedora Core 5. PHP was installed
using Apache's apxs and the php library was installed to
/usr/local/php. However, when I set my "error_reporting" setting to be
"E_ALL", notices are still not getting reported. The perms on my file
are 664, with owner root and group root. The php.ini file is located
at /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini. Any ideas why the setting does not seem
to be having an effect? ...

I am designing a site that requires AnonymousID. I set my web.config to
allow this using <anonymousIdentification enable="true".../as recommended
in the documentation.
To verify the settings I use the following code in global.asax and stop the
execution using debug to inspect the settings.

I am creating a web service PreprocessingService with IIS Hosting and
transport layer security with user name and password.
I created a self-signed certificate IISHost in IIS which is issued to and

I have a custom web.config section similar to the following:

We have an issue with load time in several installations of our application.
We've located the information regarding KB 936707 and ensured that the
application config file contains the runtime setting of
<generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
but the application still takes over 2 minutes to load. When we disconnect
