Strnge characters causing compilation error

hi,

i am hoping that someone may be able to help me... i have been writing
vb.net pages using visual web developer. they all work fine locally
however when i upload to the server i get the following error:

Compiler Error Message: BC30037: Character is not valid.

it looks as if some strange characters have been added to the end of
every line of code causing the script to error. see the page here:
http://www.albamclothing.com/register.aspx

doe anyone know what may cause this? or even better how to get rid of
them?

many thanks

It may be the strange return character that word puts in, Ive only seen this
when moving from a windows environment to a unix environment before, but if
there is some sort of FTP going on when youre uploading I'd suggest putting
the FTP client in BINARY mode before uploading...

Regards

Hello all, I am quite new a web scripting and making web pages in general and I have stumbled across a problem I have as yet been unable to solve. I am trying to take the contents of a textarea box and save it to a file. This step is not to hard however the contents of the textarea is mostly latex source so it contains just about every special character you can imagine. My question is this, how do I save an exact copy of the textarea...

VS 2005 Converted Header causing error when publishing After converting from Visual Studio 2003 to 2005, I have had several issues with a header that is used throughout the project. The conversion automatically created an abstract base class for the header in the Migrated folder of the App_Code directory. One of the major problems this caused was regarding the fact that I pass the header to a standard error handling class to process the...

A day or two ago, I wrote a quick ASPX page with a CS codebehind using Visual Studio .NET 2005 -- it worked, I saved it and closed the project. Today, I came back to the project, reopened the solution, and was greeted with the following error: ======================================================================== It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error...

Hi, I recently upgraded a website from ASP.NET 1.1 to 2.0. While working on the site and changing aspx or ascx files, I sometimes randomly get a compilation error after refreshing the page in the browser (NOT when building the project from within VS.NET). The only way to fix it is to clean the project and rebuild it - then reload the page again. This behaviour is very annoying and I can't work out what's causing it. None of my other...

I have an asp.net 2.0 project that when I change the build configuration to release I get the following error: Command line error BC2014: the value 'None' is invalid for option 'debug'. If I go into the projects Advanced Compile Options and change the Generate Debug Info dropdown from None to PDB-Only the error goes away. Can anyone explain why I have to do this and what can I do to get the one option to work on a asp.net project? ...

I'm getting an error that I can't seem to resolve. When I compile the Functor related logic in a test program, the files compile and execute properly (see Listing #1). However, when I incorporate the same logic within my simulation, the class that implements the functor logic has problems compiling. I get the following errors: -- Building myTest.cpp --

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
