Problem publishing web application in VS2005

Hi

I have a problem publishing a web application. The web application has
been developed using VS2005 and uses ASP.Net 2.0. The application
works fine from inside VS2005. However when I build the application
using MSBuild and copy the precompiled code to the appropriate virtual
directory it no longer works in the appropriate manner.

It appears as if it can't find some images. In addition and more
importantly the site does not function how it should. It appears to be
implementing some default behaviour instead of the required behaviour.
It is almost like it can't find certain files.

As this is our first web application I think we must have dome
something stupid.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Brett

Have you tried setting up a blank website on your remote server and then
using the copy website function of VS 2005, rather than publishing a
precompiled website, this will help you determine if it is a server
configuration problem or some problem related to the compilation.

Any solution? Thank you, Shimon

Is there any way of configuring VS2005's Publish Web Site feature to ignore certain files? During day to day testing of our web-site, log files are created that I don't want to deploy to the production server. However, Publish Web Site copies these over and they have to be manually removed before deployment. This rules out using FTP to publish because it would overwrite the auto-generated log files on the live server. Ideally, I'd to...

Hello, I have a simple console app for deploying an MS Access app. Recently, I started having a problem publishing the app to my webserver with the publisher feature of VS2005 when I do an update to the app. So I created a "Hello World" in VB2005 for testing, and was able to deploy that app to the webserver using the publisher, and it brings up Publish.htm. But when I try to install the VBapp from the htm page, I get an error message...

I have an ASP.NET application that I have been deploying by using the publish option on the project which compiles the project into a directory on my machine. It has been working fine and then suddenly it is indicating failure. I look in the output directory and all the files seem to be there. When I use aspnet_compiler or simply compile the project in VS2005 there are no errors. What is happening? How can I find out what is causing...

We have a C# windows mobile form application designed for PockedtPC 2003 developed in VS2003.NET with .NET 1.0/1.1. Some of the mobile devices have been replaced with Windows Mobile 5.0. As a result we have re-built the application in VS2005 with .NET 2.0. We can deploy the application to the mobile device OK via active-synch. However as our mobile devices are widely distributed the normal way of loading the application is to FTP...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
