Error Converting VS2002 project with VisualStudio 2005

B N
Hi,
When I try to open ASP Project written with Visual Studio 2002 with VS2005
it automatically tries to convert to latest version. How do I stop this
automatic conversion of Asp project and continue without any conversion ?

thanks

VS2005 has to convert it otherwise it can not open the project and view
its content. If you want to view a 2002 version you need to view it
with MS visual Studio .NET v2002 if you want to avoid converting to a
later version.

When I open an existing component containing an OleDbDataAdapter, or when I try to add an OleDbDataAdapter to a component, I receive the following error message. Up til today, this has worked flawlessly. I am using C# in VS.NET 2005 beta 2. Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. at EnvDTE.OutputGroup.get_FileCount()

I imported a VC++6.0 project into VC++7.1. The conversion operation makes a mess with Preprocessor Definitions, adding a "$(NoInherit)" for each file. For example: I had a DLL project in VC++6.0 where the definitions were: _UNICODE,_DEBUG,_WIN32_DCOM,WIN32,_WINDOWS,_WINDLL,_AFXDLL,_USRDLL In VC++7.1, these are the preprocessor definitions of the project (right-click the project in Solution Explorer and choose Properties -> C++ ->...

Hi, I have installed SQL 2005 RTM on a new server and I keep getting this error (described below) quite frequently. Was wondering if anyone has a clue on what's happening here. I tried googling but no success! This generally happens when I am browsing the tree in Object explorer in SQL 2005 Management Studio. I can be doing anything - like viewing databases, or viewing table list or viewing stored procedure list, etc.

Hi, Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm a bit new to C++. I've been handed over a C++ app written in VS2002 which I have to convert to VS2005. Apparently it's been written in a C style, but cannot comment myself! Following the conversion I have numerous errors, which following some digging around turns out to be because _export is obsolete, and

I posted a feedback item in Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=277761 Please have a look at this, as I think it is a relative small feature request that could be easily solved but was rejected all the time in the VS 2005 cycle. I just hate doing demo's with all the Recent Project garbage in my face :-( If you agree (or don't agree) please submit your vote on this feature...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
