I'm wondering if it's possible, outside of the declaration of an ASP.NET 2.0
GridView, to programmatically style individual columns. For example, I might
want to make the text in a particular column bold, or larger.
I know that Templates and other declarative mechanisms exist to make this
happen. I'm wondering if you can apply the styling using code only. What is
the general syntax?
Flash Actionscript has this "after the fact"...

Just wondering if anyone has a simple example of creating a gridview
completely programmatically, i'm not doing anything terribly sophisticated.
When creating the gridview declaratively evertying works fine, however
programmatically, while the grid will display data that exsists in the
database, any operation on the data ( editing/updating/deleting ) seems to
cause a rowdeleting/updating etc error. Or is this simply not meant to be
done?

Hi,
I'm working with VWD and i defined programmatically a button (in
code-behind) with an ID. So I expect to see beside "Page Events" and "Form1"
my button "b1" in order to use the Click event. But it doesnt' appear. After
saving the code-behind file, i only see "Page Events" and "Form1".
If i define the button declarativally, i see it. But i need to define it
programmatically.
Can anybody tell me how to do? I also tried with...

Hello Developers,
Here is interesting problem I just came across: how do I wire a GridView
control programmatically?
Here is my sample code using Object Data Source:

{
ObjectDataSource ods = new ObjectDataSource("MyTestTableAdapter",

I have several data sources that use the same gridView. I need to remove
columns from the gridview at run time where the DataBind.Eval statements dont
apply to the query currently using the grid.
I have discovered that using gridView.Columns.Remove(...) causes the
gridView OnRowCommand to quit functioning for any columns that remain in the
grid. (MS Please look into this, obviously a bug).
So Ive been looking at other ways to hide the...

Hello,
I have an event that I defined with a delegate. When I bind this event to a button and place the event prior to calling base.OnLoad(e) which is called prior to
if (!PostBack) the Event works as expected.
I now want to use this event in a gridview but when I add it to the gridview the event doesn't fire.
For a test I moved the code that binds the button to the event beyond where I call base.OnLoad(e) and after if (!PostBack) and...

Hello,
I have a gridview that is filled with a datasource & template fields dynamically.
( that has to be done because i ask the user for a datasource)
anyway, i started out creating a static but empty grid. and added the template controls and datasource & activated grid.DataBind() in the page_load event.
that gave me all the info when the page loaded on screen.
now i have an edit and update buttons on each row and pressing the...

Hi,
I am currently extending the GridView control and would like to add a
button to the GridView so that it will automatically render one button
at the top of the grid. I have a click event for that button, but
everytime the button is clicked, the page posts back and the click
event does not fire (probably because the button gets created every
single time there's a postback). What is the best way for me to create
this button and then...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
