My company has 2 web sites. On site #1 we have a hyperlink to site #2. The
requirement is that if site #2 is already opened in any browser instance,
clicking on the hyperlink to site #2 should not open a new window, but
rather the existing browser instance.
Is this possible at all? Please share with me your thoughts and experience.
Many thanks in advance.

Yes and no.
If you set a name on the window, and use that as target in the link, it
will open in that window if the window belongs to the same intance of
the browser.
If the window belongs to a different instance of the browser, you can't
target the window (unless you create a ActiveX component that analyses
the running processes of the client computer).
Using Internet Explorer, if you start a new browser window from the
start menu (or similar) you start a new instance.
Firefox only uses one instance, regardless of how you opened the browser
window.

I'd like to launch a local application with a HTML page without any

Thank you in advance.

I wish to have a link on a page that launches a new browser before it

Thanks in advance

Hi,
How can I launch a new instance of IE from VB.net 2005? Currently, I am
using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start to open a URL but it always takes
control of an existing instance of the web browser. I've tried specifying
the full path and executable name of IEXPLORE.EXE but when I do so, I just
get an error. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. For...
