Hello,
I am trying to find a way to create a scheduled task or
service that will copy my local profile folders
under "Documents and settings" to a network drive. This
would allow me to restore my settings if my profile became
tampered with or corrupt. Is there any sample code
available out there?

Hi
I am working on application that need to hold custom user information - Last
and first name, email, some other domain related information.
I used to create Base class for all my pages. The base class would have
CurrentUser property that would hold customer class in session and that was
fine for all my situations.
Now ASP.NET 2.0 came and we have Profile property for pages that could be
extended with configuration to have custom...

I would appreciate your assistance on this ASP.NET 2.0 site....
This is the wierd problem: While accessing the built in .NET functions for
'profiling' or 'membership' an error is generated (see following 2
examples):
---- EXAMPLE 1 --------
OK --> Dim p As New ProfileCommon
OK --> p = Profile.GetProfile(Me.ddlRacer.SelectedItem.Text)
FAILS --> Me.lblDebug.Text = p.FirstName.ToString

A month ago I posted:
"I built my application with Access 2003 and made a distribution using

I can install the application on my development PC and on a "bare" PC.
Regardless of the PC where I install, in the installed application (but
not the development version)

Hi all,
I want to know if it is possible to have a WCF service hosted in IIS
(.svc) that uses the provider model in .Net?
Ideally, I'd like the WCF service methods to detect the user's AD user
name automatically (ie not passed as a parameter in the method) such
that it uses trusted authentication. The service then access profile
information via the profile provider.
In ASP.NET pages this is easy. You can simply do:

When profile data is stored in ASP .NET, where is the user data persisted?
For how long is it persisted: is it session persisted or permanent (like a
cookie)?

Hi there,
I would like to open my Asp.Net project as a "Web Application" rather than
as a "Web Site" in Visual Studio.
But the thing is that I use the System.Web.Profile and the auto-generated
class "ProfileCommon myApp.Profile", which provides me with type profile
properties. And the fact is that this generated class is not generated with
Web app...
For ex, in the web site project, if "X" is a profile Property, I can write:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
