Displaying tiffs, jpegs, gifs from a directory

Hello,

I have a folder on the server g:\users\logos\ . I need to create a web
app that will display all the images in that folder (there are gifs,
tiffs, jpegs and bmps) in thumbnail format and then when the user
clicks, he/she can download that image. I found some sample code that
will display one type of image (jpgs) but I cannot figure out how to
display all different formats. IS there any sample code out there?
any help will be appreciated, i've waisted almost 3 days on this
already.

Thanks!

Karina :)

Hi, I have a number of ASP pages where some JPGs and GIFs are displaying in the browser and some are not. I have included an excerpt from the HTML below. In this example, the gif file at the bottom of the example is displaying (I have others that don't), while the jpg file at the top isn't. Both files are in the same folder (visible bith physical in WE and virtual in CM) as the asp file itself. WHen not displaying, it displays instead...

I have multi-page tiff files. I need to extract individual frames from the multi-page tiffs and save them as single-page tiffs. 95% of the time I receive multi-page tiffs containing 1 or more black and white CCITT4 compressed files (frames) inside the tiff. Every now and then I receive a mixture of black and white CCITT4 and JPEG compressed files, and sometimes just multi-page tiffs with JPEG only. The code runs great when dealing with the...

Happy New Year, Everyone! I am trying to figure out how to display a bunch of images (mainly JPEGs, but possibly a few GIFs and PNGs as well) that are stored in a local directory on the system. I can do this with the glob() function, but I can't seem to put in a directory other than one within the webroot. For example, I can only put "/uploads" and not "/Volumes/jray/Pictures...". Any ideas how to get around this? If I can't use the...

Hello, I'm wondering whats the best method to use for displaying several photos' thumbnails. One method I know is to dynamically resize the photo at the time the page is loaded. What does this do to server/site performance? The other is to copy the photo at time of upload and create a thumbnail then, have two separate images, therefor when displaying its just pulling the actual image. What do you think??

I am trying to add jpegs in a form, I am using a bound object Frame. When I right click and insert object I choose create from file I choose the picture and all that shows up is a link, the only way I have gotten the picture to show up is if I use a .gif and instead of a .jpeg. When I click create new, I am unable to get any of my options to work. On a personal computer I was able to use Microsoft Photo Editor 3.0 and have it insert a...

I have an Access 2000 database in which I display many pictures on reports, the pictures are not embedded, the database just stores the path to where the pictures are stored. When I select Gifs, Tifs, BMP etc the pictures appear on the forms and reports. However when I select .JPG format they don’t appear, no error message simply a white square where the picture should be. I have used this database for several years on a different PC...

..NET 1.1/2.0 I have a need to display high-resolution scrollable images in a .NET application (Windows Forms). One well known solution is to create a Panel with AutoScroll set to "true" and then add a PictureBox or another Panel to it, that is used to display the image. The above approach works, however, to my surprise, .NET GDI+-based graphics are not really hi-res friendly.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
