I'm having trouble assigning a string to a character array. Here's the
applicable code:
#include <iostream>
#include "Creature.hpp" // Includes Creature class
using namespace std;
char CreatureName;

I'm in a bit of a pickle.
My employer, a health insurance firm, had me design a small database to
track benefit issues. The intended users were technical specialists and
some managers (about 90 people, no more than 10 concurrent users at any
one time) all of which had Access 97 loaded on their machines.
Everything was going smoothly, and I...

Many technological innovations rely upon User Interface Design to elevate
their technical complexity to a usable product. Technology alone may not win
user acceptance and subsequent marketability. The User Experience, or how
the user experiences the end product, is the key to acceptance. And that is
where User Interface Design enters the...

Hey all,
I've played about with ASP.NET for a couple of years and was hoping to
start going 'pro' soon. I've also have been employed as a software
developer doing primarily C++ for several years.
It seems as if the 'core programming' and classic 'web development'
worlds have collided when it comes to ASP.NET. Is the ability to
develop...

So structures are useful to group variables, so you can to refer to a
collection as a single entity. Wouldn't it be useful to also have the
ability to collect variable and functions?
Ask K&R say, C programs consist of variables to store the input and
functions to manipulate them.
This would make C object-oriented - how cool would that be?...

My company uses coldfusion to create web applications and we currently
are using TOAD as a front end to creating SQL queries. I was wondering
how is Access compared to TOAD on its ability to provide a front end to
an Oracle database
Also, does Access have the ability to create table Aliases for whenever
you create a query in design view...

I have a web page that displays and creates DNS entries. It displays
DNS entries if they exist for certain IP ranges. (Usually about 20 IP
address at a time) If a DNS entry needs to be created then it creates
the entry. However if I use GetHostEntry() to perform the DNS lookup it
does not show me the entry I just created. It takes several...

Hi,
I have been working on C++ for some time now, and I think I have a
flair for design (which just might be only my imagination over-
stretched.. :) ). So, I tried to find a design certification, possibly
that involves C++, but, if not, C++ and UML. All I could find was Java
+ UML design certifications (one such is detailed on...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
