I'm using the standard upload component in ASP.NET 1.1 to allow authors to
upload manuscripts to our server.
This is working fine except for some people using FireFox. The problem is,
the upload is working for MY fireFox browser so I'm unable to troubleshoot
and step through the code to see what is really going on. The is one
customer who has the same browser version as me and another who has an older
version.
I have told these people to use IE as a work around, but I would like to
know if there is a possible setting in FireFox that would prevent the upload
from happening. Has anyone else seen this problem and if so, do you know
what the cause is?
Thanks,
Velvet 2 1761
Do they get an error?

Hi Velvet ,
Regarding on the fileuploading issue, I think it likely a client
environment specific issue. Have you confirmed with those customers that
their firefox's version is identical with those which work correctly?
Based on my understanding, since the ASP.NET's fileupload control just
encapsulate the html <input type="file" ..../> element, so I suggest you
also create a simple page which use the raw html element to upload file, if
this still not work, the problem is purely concerned with the client-side
browser.

Steven Cheng

I am using the html input type=file to upload files to the webserver. This is working fine, but only for files less than ~3mb in size. When I attempt to upload a file >3mb, i immediatley receive a standard error "page cannot be displayed, cannot find server or dns error". Very odd indeed. In looking through the logs, I see my request and it appears to be logging a HTTP 400 (Bad Request). I believe this to be a problem related to asp.net or...

I've a file upload script on my site. I just now used it to upload a
small text document (10k). Everything worked fine.
Then I tried to upload a 5.3 meg Quicktime video.
Didn't work.
I've set the POST limit in php.ini to 8 megs.
What reasons, other than the POST limit, would a large upload fail?

Hi,
I urgently need help. My code should let a user select an image file for upload, view the image on the browser to be able to set the image size then upload the image. It should also be compatible in IE, Opera and Firefox. Currently everything works well in IE only.
Problem:
1) I can't view an image from a local drive in Opera and Firefox. I am aware that Firefox doesn't link local files, so I set user_pref("security.checkloaduri",...

I have a strange problem when uploading a PDF document to a web-server. When
I try this to a web-server running Apache 2 on a FC 4, it fails. Firefox
says that the document contain no data.
If I upload it to a different web-server running RH 7.3 (an internal
test-webserver), it works OK.
The PDF document is created by OpenOffice 2.0 from a MS Word document. I
have also had it converted to PDF in MS Word that could create PDF
documents....

i want to do (multiple) file upload(s) and display a progress bar.
with firefox and safari it is no problem at all. only IE makes some
problems.
my script is based on ajax-uploader, which can be found at
www.srmiles.com/freestuff/ajax_file_uploader/ . you can do multiple
file uploads. each upload will have it's own "form"-tag, so that each
file is uploaded for its own. could be a good solution if there are
"big" uploads.

I work for an animal hospital trying to use PHP to store an animal's
dental x-rays to a file server.
I can browse for the xray on the local desktop computer then click
"Upload Image". This works fine. The doctors want fewer steps to
follow. So, it was asked if I can configure the browser to load/submit
the image 'xray.tif' each time they click "Upload Image" instead of
the doctor/animal technician having to look for for dental x-ray...

All,
I have two Windows Server 2003 boxes running IIS 6.0 webservers that
host our proxy pac file. These two servers are behind a network load-

that when they make a change to the PAC file, they simply have to go
to this upload site, browse for the new PAC file on their system and

successfully, the script does not catch the larger files and rather
than a specific error message in Firefox (and IE7), I just get the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
