What special thing is doing Page.Render

WT
Hello,
I recently discovered that Page.Render is doing special things concerning
the Menu navigation control.
When I was using my own Render override, menus were not working, maybe some
style missing, or some javascript not loaded.
Any information welcome as I need to do some special work in Render.

Hi CS,

Welcome to the ASP.NET newsgroup.

Regarding on the overriding of Page's Render method problem, based on my
experience, in the built-in page class's Render method just act like normal
webcontrol, will recursively render its child controls. Anyway, generally
when overriding super class's certain method to do some custimzation, we're
always recommended to call the base class's implementation first. This can
help ensure the original work still be done.

I'm concerned that with all the focus on obj$func binding, &closures, and other not-so-pretty details of Prothon, that we are missing what is really good - the simplification of classes. There are a number of aspects to this simplification, but for me the unification of methods and functions is the biggest benefit. All methods look like functions (which students already understand). Prototypes (classes) look like modules. This will...

We have a developer who claims the Visual Studio designer is not sophisticated enough to build enterprise grade web pages and thus hand codes all of his HTML in such a way as to make the designer impossible to use. Is this common?

Hey! I wrote a message yersterday and got some good answers and have now managed to generate a nice image. The problem is that it's all generated in an Images.Aspx file and I don't really want that. I am writing a WebControl Library and I want to generate everything from there... In the Render Sub of the Control I output some HTML and there I need to reference to a file in the <img> element, is there anyway to NOT have to point to a...

Just tried Ruby over the past two days. I won't bore you with the reasons I didn't like it, however one thing really struck me about it that I think we (the Python community) can learn from. Ruby has ... an issue with docs. That is to say, there are almost none. Well, actually, there are some. For example, the "PickAxe" book (google it), and "Why's" Poignant Guide. But there's a disturbing lack of *built-in* docs for Ruby. Now, the...

Hello, I am creating a class with a control. I compiled the class and used it on an Asp.Net 2.0 web site page. I can see the begin and end tags of my control (<oland </ol>) but somehow the child controls (just a literal for testing) of my control is not being added to the page. Could someone tell me what am I doing wrong?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
