Hello,
I thought about a new Python feature. Please tell me what you think
about it.
Say you want to write a base class with some unimplemented methods, that
subclasses must implement (or maybe even just declare an interface, with
no methods implemented). Right now, you don't really have a way to do
it. You can leave the methods with a...

Hi,
I know that it is illegal in C++ to have a static pure virtual method,
but it seems something like this would be useful when the following 2
conditions hold:
1. You know that every one of your Derived classes will need to
implement some method, but implement it differently, and that the base
class cannot implement it. This is where...

I'm a bit confused with this new data binding methodology - well, at
least the "visual" part of it.
With asp.net 1, I used be able to "mouse-my-way" around data binding
instead of doing it in code. However, since DataBinding property is gone
from all controls in 2.0 and DataSourceID isn't visible among control
properties, is there really no...

From the MS site:
NAME: ClientScriptManager.GetCallbackEventReference (Control, String,
String, String)
DESCRIPTION: Obtains a reference to a client-side function that, when
invoked, initiates a client call back to a server-side event. The
client-side function for this overloaded method includes a specified
control, argument, client-side...

Hi comp.lang.javascript,
I'm throwing this in for discussion. First up I don't claim to be any
sort of authority on the ecmascript language spec - in fact I'm a
relative newb to these more esoteric uses (abuses?) of the language.
I've been working from the oft quoted resource
http://www.crockford.com/javascript/private.html. During my...

Hi
Is it really not recommended to us Eval in databound controls as
follows:
<td><asp:TextBox id="BookTitle" Runat="Server"
Text='<%# Eval("BookTitle") %>'
Font-Size="8pt" Width="80px"/></td>
If so what is the alternative.

Duh.
I tried several syntactical character combinations but I can't seem to
figure out the syntax to extend the use of <%# Eval("...") %when used
inline as a ToolTip so as to append pre-fixed and post-fixed text with the
data that is returned by the expression.
// Returns: Scott
ToolTip='<%# Eval("MiddleName") %>'
// Need: Clinton Scott...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
