I have been using VB.NET for 2 years and have completed many applications.
Recently I have experienced problems using the dataset designer and at this
point I cannot use it at all. It began when I added a column to a table in
the dataset designer and when I returned to the windows designer, all the
objects were gone and an error message was on the form.
At this point, I cannot generate a dataset without getting the error, "There
were...

we get now built into asp.net, so i can have the error page shown in the
company's template... how would i go about doing this? anything to do with

We have need to share functionality across all of our application web pages, so we decided to subclass from System.Web.UI.Page. When we create a new aspx, the Visual Studio designer automatically puts in the codebehind, as such:
public class testsubclass : System.Web.UI.Page
We change this to be:
public class testsubclass : OurProject.Library.BaseWebPage
Which is defined as:

I got a strange problem. I have specified a custom error page in my
Web.Config file and it works great if i get an exception anywhere on my
site.
The problem i got is that i do some checks in the "Session_Start" method
in global.asax. And when i get an exception there my custom error page
wont show up. Its not a major problem but its kinda strange.
Anyone know how to solve it or just explain why it is this way?

I'm trying to lay out an ASP.NET page in VS 2003.
Is it normal that controls can't be positioned inside of a panel control in
grid design view?
Whenever I try to move anything around it stays centered at the top of the
panel...

For some reason, in asp.net 2.0 (beta 2), any time I have an unhandled
exception, my page will not handle the error. I have tried setting
AutoEventWireup to true, false, removed it. I've tried taking out the
<customErrors> configuration and various permutations of values for it.
I've put breakpoints in an OnError overload as well as a Page_Load handler.
I've even tried manually adding the error handler during OnInit. Still, if
I...

Hey:
I am a rookie developer so please bear with me.
I want to develop a small application for my office but I am having trouble
clearing a page that has required fields.
If I make a textbox required and then trigger it by not entering in any data
the page seems to be totally locked. (Which makes sense because the Textbox
is required)
My question is: How can I code a button that overrides the required fields

Hi,
We are writing an application in asp.net 2.0.
We have used menu control and made it a usercontrol. I have Partial cached the user control.
After caching the user control, this is being used in a Master Page.
Everything was working fine without caching but after caching the control, it is throwing null referance errors randomly.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
