Hi All,
I've been trying to come up with an elegant solution to this problem,
but can't seem to think of anything better than my solution below.
I have a Python program that needs to be converted into an executable.
The problem is that I have a "config" template file that I've been
using to modify initialization constants such as paths, global
variables, structures, etc. Obviously, once I convert my code into an
executable I can no...

Hi guys, just going through remoting at the moment and a couple of questions
relating to .net in general has surfaced.
Firstly I have seen in the designer that for the namespace and many of its
associated classes of System.Runtime.Remoting are available, but certain
ones are not. A reference to System.Runtime.Remoting needs to be added to
make available all the unavailable ones. Now although I (think) understand
the concept that an...

If I add this to my web.config file:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name=".ASPXUSERDEMO" loginUrl="login.aspx" protection="All"
timeout="60" />
</authentication>
I can configure the application so that users who try to access a page
in the application, get redirected to login.aspx where they have to
sign in. (And the "signing in" is handled in the codebehind page of

I have created two configurations. One is called Release-Internal and
one is called Release-External. I also have two config files named
Internal.config and External.config. The difference in the files is
that the server locations included within each file are either the
local internal addresses or the external public addresses. I've set
the "override file" property in the configuration option property page
to be Interal.config for...

Hi,
I have a mail server that generates archives in a directory for every
message sent or received and each archive has an associated XML file
with <sender>, <receiver>, <subject> and other email related tags and
all files have same exact format. I would like to generate reports in
a web page based upon the content of these XML files but not sure where
to start. I know how to make an individual XML file display in browser
by linking a...

I want to generate an XML file on the server side and allow the user to
download it by clicking on a link. I also want the XML file to always be
named "Config.XML"
Whats the best way to do this?
If I create an ASP.NET page called Config.aspx, I can generate the XML file
(and change the mime type). However, when the user tries to save it on his
desktop, IE names it Config.aspx instead of Config.xml.

Hi there,
I am quite new on python programming and need some help on solving my
problem..
I have to make a (python) program which deletes files from
directories. I don't think deleting, etc. is the problem. The problem
is that the directories where i have to delete them are 'dynamic'/
subject to change. So what i thought is to make a config file
containing an identifier (useful for myself) and there the directory.

Hi I have a perl script, basically what it is suppose to do is check a folder with files. Now the files are checked using a timestamp with the command ls -l so the timestamp in this format is checked. Now what the script does is it checks the time stamp and creates a year folder if it does not exist and then creates a month folder if it does not exist and puts the respective files in the month folders. If the files are created this month then it...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
