Hi! Any help on this would be appreciated...
In an HTML document that lists instructions on installing some
software, there's a point where a DOS batch file needs to be run in
order to copy files from the CD to the hard drive. Given that CD
drives can have various names, I wanted to run the batch file using
relative paths.
The problem is, the DOS window that opens to run the batch file can
leave the command prompt at any location . So...

I am developing a small web site for a club using asp.net 2.0. I am tyring
to run test versions of the site on a system that does not have vs 2005 on
it nor does it need it. To do this I run WebDev.WebServer using the
following line:
start /B WebDev.WebServer /port:4131 /path:d:\ClubSite /vpath:/ClubSite
I have added v2 of the framework to the path but I get a
FileNotFoundException with WebDev.WebHost. Has anyone seen anything like

I've a PHP script that does some stuff, zips up some files, and starts
an FTP process.
I need it to do the Zip and FTP in the background and let the page
finish, otherwise the user could have that page sitting there loading
for 20 minutes while the FTP completes.
Here's what I have:
$zipfile = $order_po.".zip";

i just noticed the website i created in VS 2005 is running on a different
port than the default. I see that it is running on the local web server, and
also that the website i created isn't in IIS.
My crystal report looks weird because it is trying to show images from the
crystalreportviewers10 virtual directory based on the current website
running, which in this case is localhost:1169, but actuall the
crystalreportviewers10 virtual...

Is the Development Server part of the .net 2x runtime package or
installed with one installs VS 2005? I wish to run a small web app on
a machine, with the runtime installed, and need to know if I need to
include the Development Server in the install. If the latter, what
files need to be included? (Exe, DLL, etc)
Finally, can I legally re-distrubte the Development Server?

When I run my webapp, IIS 5.1 (XP) is behaving different from
WebDev.WebServer (Visual Studio Development Server). I use Windows
authentication, and want to restrict access to a certain group. I do
that like this (part from web.config in the <system.webpart):
<authentication mode="Windows" />
<authorization>
<allow roles="GroupName"/>
<deny users="*,?"/>
</authorization>

Good morning everybody
I have a question regarding configuring mappings in the development
webserver. I am currently implementing a proxy server that is lied
between the clients and a customer's webapplication. This proxy is
responsible for security aspects (authentication/authorization) that
is not handled by the webapplication itself. For that I created a
class that implements IHttpHandler and registered it in the
webproject's...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
