Multiple windows in ASP.NET

Say I had one window open in Internet Explorer, then the user clicked a link
and opened another window. While on the active window, how do I get something
from the window that was open first. Also, how I do tell the first window to
refresh when the second window is done.

Hi, I'm trying to understand a situation where ASP seems to be "blocking" of "queuing" requests. This is on a Win2K Advanced Server, with IIS5. I've seen some posts (e.g., http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=Tidy7IDbDHA.2108%40cpmsftngxa06.phx.gbl) that indicate that ASP will queue up requests when they come...

Hey, I'm currently trying to find a way to open a dialog box that will allow me to select more than one file at a time, so if I want to upload select all the files in a directory, I won't have to have the number of dialog boxes as files in the directory. I was thinking of using a ActiveX control, but I don't want to make the sure download...

We have multiple ASP.Net web apps in development. As a standard we are looking to go with SQL Server to hold state information. Can we have the multiple apps all point to a single State DB? Or do we need to install multiple instances of the State database on to the SQL Server (one for each Web app)? It would seem that you could run into...

I'm currently working on a project developing a web application that makes heavy use of 3rd-party controls, popup windows and frames ( not my design I hasten to add ). Some of the pages make use of several user controls embedded in a tab control. Needless to say that the page size can be somewhat on the large size, including a lot of...

Hello, I have a multithreaded windows NT service application (vb.net 2003) that I am working on (my first one), which reads a message queue and creates multiple threads to perform the processing for long running reports. When the processing is complete it uses crystal reports to load a template file, populate it, and then export it to a...

I'm looking for the best way to make a dataset available from multiple Windows forms. The dataset is created from an XML file. I have a main form (frmMain) that loads the dataset and reads the data but then I have other forms that give the ability to add, modify, and delete rows. This of course changes the dataset and I need that reflected...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
