We are using our own custom JavaScript validation as well as .Net
validation. However, when we include our custom validation on a page,
..NET does not render/write the
'/aspnet_client/system_web/1_0_3705_0/WebUIValidation.js' path on the
page. If we do not include our own custom JavaScript validation, .NET
DOES render/write the
'/aspnet_client/system_web/1_0_3705_0/WebUIValidation.js' path on the
page.
I would like to make sure the...

I created an ASP.NET web application. I added a TextBox and a
RequiredFieldValidator control, and set the ControlToValidate property of
RequiredFieldValidator control to be TextBox1. After I built and run the
application, it pops up an error dialog as follows:
unable to find script library
'/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js'. Try placing this
file manually, or reinstall by running 'aspnet_regiis -c'
any ideas??...

Instead of having a copy of the aspnet_client folder in each site's files on
a machine, can a virtual directory/application be made with each site's root
in IIS to the machine's c:\inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client folder? Would this
create security issues? If it is OK to do this, should it be a virtual
directory or virtual application?

Don't ask my why we need to do this, I didn't write the website policy :( ,
but we are deploying to a website where we cannot place any directories
directly off web root (i.e. aspnet_client) and therefore we need to tell
all those lovely validation controls that their js files have moved. Is
there a setting somewhere that we can change to tell the system where
aspnet_client is? This is a urgent deployment issue.

I have a bunch of ASP.NET Web sites on a production server. Until today,
some had the aspnet_client folder and some did not. I just ran
aspnet_regiis -i as part of a troubleshooting effort and suddenly ALL of the
ASP.NET Web sites have the aspnet_client folder (and its sub folders).
The sites that previously did not have the aspnet_client folder seemed to
work just fine (for a long time). The sites that previously had that
folder - well,...

I'm not a big fan of fly-out navigation, but I have a need for it on an
internal application we're developing.
Before I build my own, I thought I'd see what I could find. I found a lot of
..net fly-out nav controls, but all of them are built rather poorly in terms
of accessibility. So, I was wondering if anyone has found a control that:
- doesn't require javascript to navigate (ie, it degrades nicely)
- takes advantage of CSS
-...

When you run 'aspnet_regiis -c', the aspnet_client directory is created
under EVERY web site on the IIS server. It seems strange that there
doesn't seem to be any way of running the command so that it only
installs the aspnet_client directory under a specified web site or even
just the .net web sites on the server. I'm running several production
IIS servers that have got a mix of .net and non-.net web sites on them
and I don't want the...

Hi all
I'm building a composite control for ASP.NET 1.1 that relies on
external javascript (.js) files. I've noticed the Microsoft custom web
controls make use of the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client subfolder to
store common javascript files and other include common files. I've
also noticed some third-party control vendors have successfully made
use of this folder by including their own subfolder under
aspnet_client and dumping .js files...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
