What version of VS 2005? VS 2005 professional? or do you have an Express
version? If you have C# express or VB.Net express, that won't work, you
need Visual Web Developer Express. If you have VS 2005 Professional, it
should be in the Create New similar to 2003.

Just to be clear, you simply can't find the "Create New Web Project" when
you go to File --> New Project, right?

I have just installed VS 2005 (MSDN version) and I am having problems coping files to the Projects folder while VS2005 is running. The projects folder is on a network share and I have used mscorfg.msc to set permissions as follows: Machine | Code Groups | All_Code | LocalIntranetZone | Copy of DataShare file://\\Jgsvr\DataShare\*.

This might be common knowledge... but, what does this animated icon in the VS2005 IDE mean? (http://www.cflashsoft.com/temp/vs05sb.JPG) it's a VS icon... animated... slowly blowing up). I've personally never noticed it until tonight. What does it mean (there's no tooltip!.... bad UI design guys!)? -- -C. Moya www.cmoya.com

Hello, When I create an icon in VB2005 icon editor - 32x32, the figure I draw in the editor is not displaying on the icon file in the solution explorere, in windows explorer, on the exe, or on the Form. But the icon figure does display in the Project Properties Application Tab (for icon), and it displays in the Alt-Tab window. How can I make the figure in the icon display on the form, exe, solution explorer,...?

My colleague is having problems debugging in VS2005. When he sets breakpoints in his code and launches his application via Debug->Start New Instance, the breakpoints autodisable themselves and the "breakpoint icon" switches from being filled in to outlined with a warning glyph on the bottom right hand corner. When moused-over, the icon reads "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. The specified module is not being loaded." I checked the...

I am trying to program a database from inside C++.NET via Visual Studio 2005 using the ADO.NET set of classes, but this I believe is a SQL Server 2005 Express permissions question under Windows XP Professional OS. In another thread, http://tinyurl.com/373lzx, I was able to open a database successfully using VS2005 (thanks to a suggestion by Erland Sommarskog). But subsequent to this I played around with the local policy permissons...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
