I get these errors when creating a asp .net web application project in VS 2003 on a remote web server:
"Microsoft Development Environment
The Web was created successfully, but an error occurred when trying to configure the application root for this Web. Web projects may not operate correctly without an application root. The returned error was: Active Directory Services cannot find the web server. A possible cause for this is an...

Hi all,
I was thinking about setting up a staging server reunning windows 2003 Server.
Up until now I've always used my local machine to perform development because
I don't know how to get debugging working on a remote machine. And frankly,
sometimes getting debugging to work on my own machine can be a total pain
in the arse.
But now I'm going to give it a shot.

I spent a few hours today setting up remote debugging in VS.2003
I had to disable the firewall, subvert the security scheme and let anonymous
users have full access to my COM+ objects on my Windows XP workstation, but
other than that, it was smooth sailing.
And, oh yeah. I also have to run remote desktop sharing terminal between
my XP workstation and the W2K target or I can't RPC to the destination
machine.

I have an ASP.NET (C#) web app on a remote server. Whenever I try to debug it, I get:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. Access is denied."
I did some research on this, and I do have the user as a member of both Administrators and Debugger Users. (Machines are on a
workgroup, so its just a user with the same username/password on the remote machine). Aside from the two groups to put the user...

I did lot of googling to see if I can solve the SQL server not found
problem while trying to run ASP.Net community starter kit from an XP

all possible combinations but it still fails.
I have Windows 2003 server having SQL Server 2000 installed with SP2.
The installation went Ok on a XP professional machine and I was able

Hello,
I am installing the remote debug components on Windows 2003...
This is a production server, and I am only going to be debugging there
for a short time before we go live.
I put the VS.NET 2003 dvd into the box...even though the framework is
installed on windows 2003, it still requires me to install the
prerequisites...

Hello,
I use Visual Studio .Net 2003 Professional (Trial version) on Windows XP
Professional (Dutch version). I have a Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6 (UK
version). There is no domain, just a workgroup 'Servers' and a workgroup
'Acme'. My Web Project is in the root of a web site. Not the default
website, a new website, so it's not a virtual folder, it is a website with a
host header like this: project.acme.test
On the Windows Server...

Okay, so I'll try here now <g>
I've been battling this problem for over a week now. So, if nothing else,
hopefully my little tale of woe will be entertaining. But I'm really hoping
someone somewhere in the world has encountered this problem and knows how to
get around it.
If anyone has any NEW ideas for me, please please let me know. Thanks!
Here goes:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
