Hi there, hope someone can help me on this:
I'm planning to deploy several ASP.NET projects to a production server.
Normally I used the "Project / Copy project" option in VS.NET, but to this
production server I only have FTP access. I tried copying the files with a
FTP tool, but it seems that every application needs to have an own virtual
directory, is this true? Or is it possible to just make 1 virtual directory
and put al the projects...

I am currently using the Default Website but want to add the following:
1. A local development WEBSITE (port 81)
2. A new WEBSITE (points to another host header www.newebsite.com)
VS.NET works fine with the Default Website alone BUT the problem is when I
add these new websites and try to create ANY new project in VS.NET, I get an
"ASP.NET Version 1.1 not running" error etc...
How can I get this setup to work and be able to create...

Hi,
I have a web application which sometimes throws an “out of memory”
exception. To get an idea what happens I traced some values using performance
monitor and got the following values (for one day):
\\FFDS24\ASP.NET Applications(_LM_W3SVC_1_Root_ATV2004)\Errors During
Execution: 7
\\FFDS24\ASP.NET Apps v1.1.4322(_LM_W3SVC_1_Root_ATV2004)\Compilations

VS.2003, .NET Framework 1.1, C#
My goal: Creating a dll (helper.dll) which contains some UserControls
and some other helpful classes in order to use it in other projects.
Symtoms: The inital use of the UserControl component works. However, if
the Helper Project is recompiled, the UserControl does not work

I like the web deployment projects add-in for VS 2005. The web.config
section replacement is especially useful. I'm a bit confused about an
aspect of this. We develop against remote web servers and Attach to
the remote debugger remotely. This whole deployment thing does not
take that into account (at least from I can undersstand).
In VS 2003, we could switch between release and debug on the same web
server and still run the site from...

Hi
I have setup DFS namespaces (no problem here).
I am currently writing software to manage their projects. The DFS is \
\%domainname%\projects\%year%\ProjectNo
we have different remote sites dealing with different projects, so
have i setup the DFS root at the ProjectNo, so that i can sync/move
projects to different server without coping unwanted projects. All

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
