Hello,
I have following code in my ASP.NET webform..
<td nowrap align=center><% # DataBinder.Eval (Container, "DataItem.FLAG" )
%></td>
Flag value could be either 'R' or 'P' - if its 'R' I want to print
'Rejected' in font Red and if its 'P' I want to print 'Processed' in
greeen.
Now I have been able to do this with <td nowrap align=center><% #
GETSTRING(DataB inder.Eval(Cont ainer, "DataItem.FLAG" )) %></td>
but I just wanted to find out what are other ways to achive this? And
if what I did above is a good way to do it.
Thankx

You are on the right track.
You can ofcourse do the code in a stored procedure! This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hello everyone,
I know this question has been asked many times in the forums, and after
spending a few days reading, I am still confused as to the answer.
I have a ListBox (lstBox), SqlConnection (sqlConnection),
SqlDataAdapter (daLookupData), SqlDataAdapter (daData), DataSet
(dsLookupData), and DataSet (dsData), all created via the IDE during
design-time. Here is the design of my simple tables: (An example

I am new to vb.net and I am running into problems understanding
DataBinding and its concept. The only examples I find are always
talk about Web design, I only want to use this data on my
standalone computer. So my question is:
I have a sequential file that contains data and the data is structured.
is there a way to load this data into a DataGrid control?
If the answer is yes, then how do I accomplish this?

I have what is probably a simple question. I have a Windows form with some
simple databinding going on.
I have some navigation buttons like so for the Move First button:
Me.BindingContext(Child1, "Child").Position = Child1.Tables(0).Rows.Count -
1
Each row in my dataset has a date column. How can I bind to that row based
on the value selected in my datetimepicker?

I have tried using Databinding for my application but always seem to find it
very restrictive (maybe I don't completely understand it enough). I always
seem to find it much easier to display a form, have the user fill it out then
put the data into a class representing a data row and then use the OLEadaptor
or OLECommands to update the database.
My question is has anyone really used databinding in anything but the
simpliest application...

We have been noticing that questions on vs.2005/2.0 don't appear to get much

In 1.1 we always did our own myDataAdapter.fills and we liked that control
for lots of good reasons. Now the new DataSource (or is it a
TableAdapter:Dataset) automatically fills the Gridview. How can we control
that fill?
In a...

Hi all,
I may be missing something with how databinding works but I have bound a
datasource to a control and everything is great, the control updates to
reflect the state of my datasource when I update the datasource - awesome,
but I have an issue with updating from a different thread.
Here is my datasource, a person class that raises the PropertyChanged event:
class Person : INotifyPropertyChanged

Hello,
I am facing a design problem here & need your expert design advice on
this.
Scenario:
I have a class called Vendor - which has several simple attributes like
Name, Address etc
Now, each vendor has some attributes - which are not "simple"
Basically, they can be an instance of another class

I posted this message to another board and have hardly had any views on it,
leave alone answers. So I am cross-posting here.
This may be a very simple question but I can't get my head around it.
I have a textbox's enabled property bound to the IsNew property of an object.
this.txtPhone1.DataBindings.Add("Enabled", this.BindingSource, "IsNew", true);
So when the IsNew property is true, my textbox is enabled. This is correct

I'm monkeying around with databinding, trying to learn all the ins and outs. I'm populating a label from one of my business objects properties which is a string, however, I want some formatting done on the string first. I got this working using the binding's Format event. But, I want to go one step further. Instead of using the Format event, I'm trying to set the FormatString and FormatInfo properties to make the databinding go through the...

Hi,
I've got a question which I'm hoping has a simple answer.
I have a series of control bound to an underlying DataTable.
The databinding are setup to update the data source on validation.
I have an event handler monitoring the ColumnChanged event on the DataTable, and in certain circumstances I update another column in the datatable.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
