Greetings!
I've searched groups.google.com already to see if I can determine if
using PHP/MySQL (if needed) for a web site I wish to develop. As the
subject indicated, it will be a content based site with videos - NO,
it's not a porn site though.
I thought that I'd list the key requirements/specifications for my web
site below and was wondering if some of you'd be so kind as to provide
your thoughts on each and comment on them with...

I need to know how to overlap DIV content within 'relative' associated
rendering. I am building div layers in the middle of a page and when I set
positioning to absolute in the CSS, it references back to 0,0 on the entire
page. If I set it to relative, the div layers will not overlap as needed.
I prefer to avoid javascripting an 'innerHTML' re-write of a single div and
would instead like to build two layers that can reside at the same...

Hi Folks,
Ok, here's my story. I was asked to create a website
for the church I attend. I am a complete newbie to
creating websites. So, I did the usual -- did a bunch
of googling, found that using CSS saves time in the
long run, bought a couple books, googled more,
read online tutorials, read many posts in this
and other groups, etc.

I have an existing ASP.Net application that must be modified to support
mixed content: Latin-based languages (i.e. English) intermixed with
Arabic. Our code and database assumes everything is UTF-8.
I have some concerns on this and would appreciate feedback.
1) Displaying the english content requires left-to-right formatting (
left justified) while arabic content requirese right-to-left (right
justified). Is there a way to determine...

Given HTML text (likely from SQL), is there any method that could be
employed to render server and/or custom controls that are contained inside
of that text? I would be loading content from a database and would like to
'expand' the server controls. Possibly even recursively.
Hope this makes sense, but I am guessing the answer is no.
If this is something that can't be done, I am looking at creating my own
markup tags and searching for...

I have a javascript that manipulates the DOM with content that will be
of variable heights. How can I ascertain how high my div needs to be in
order to show all content without scroll bars. Rather than just having
this happen automatically, I want the div to expand with a DHTML
animation. So, I need to know where to tell the script to stop
expanding. In pseudo-code:
function divAni(){
if(this.height > 0){
if(this.height > 0){

I am trying to get apache content negotiation to redirect only
zh-CN(mainland China, where Simplified Chinese translations are
available) language types to Chinese web pages, and have all other
variants of Chinese language tags(ie zh-TW) point to English-suffix
pages. Our site currently has content negotiation set up for several
other languages, and we have the corresponding html files for those
languages being properly served.

L.S.,
I'm trying to make a layout which is completely fixed in width and
height if needed by using three divs rows (header, content, footer)
which have each 3 div again to be able to play around better with the
webdesign.
The problem is that I need the content div row to nudge up
automatically to the header div row, independantly of the header
height. The same goes for the footer/content div row.

Hi.
This is just a disaster management question.
I am using XMLHTTP for the dynamic loading of content in a very
crucial area of my web site. Same as an IFrame, but using XMLHTTP and
a DIV. I got the core of the javascript from here:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/ajaxcontent.htm
I noticed in the demo that sometimes the content takes a long

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
