datagrid loading through javascript? or at least after page loads?

Hi, we are trying to create a page for our users that contains a lot of
data. One datagrid loads very slow because the query behind it is
complex. We would like to load up the page to the user with the
information that returns fast right away and let the data grid take
it's time to load (about 10 seconds). But we don't want the user to
have to click something after the page loads to start the query . we
want the page_load event to start everything. i have one idea with
using frames and setting the source of the frame inset page to another
page that has a spinning graphic, then in that inset page's body onload
event, calling my page with the datagrid. that would work, but I
wonder if there is an easier way? or is there any 3rd party datagrid
controls that allow the page to load fully and then load with
javascript?

thanks!

This page: http://www.hikksworld.com/loadJSFiles/ Is one where I was testing the ability of browsers that can/can't dynamically load a JS file with one of the three methods: 1)Changing the src property of a script tag. 2)Inserting a script src="" tag in a div via innerHTML 3)Using document.createElement to add a script element. The fourth method on the page is writing a script tag to a layer, and to the best of my knowledge it only...

I've been bothered for some time about my DataGrid not populating my rows very quickly. I have about 10K rows loading into the grid. I create a datatable dt with 2 columns, an ID and a display. The ID is a member of the keys array. I then create a DataView dv over the table, and sort it by Display and ID column (in case of duplicate Display). I then set my DataGrid.DataSource = dv; I then load the datatable with my rows, and this is...

I know how to create a DataAdapter that loads data from a data source into a table in a typed DataSet, and how to set the DataSource and DataMember properties of a DataGrid so that at run time it will load the data from that table in the DataSet. Assuming I've got two tables in the DataSet, how can I set the DataSource property of the DataGrid to be an inner join of the two tables in the DataSet? If I want the DataGrid to get data...

Hey folks, Got a weird one for you that I think may just be a bug with Internet Explorer. I have a page that hosts an IFrame. When I call Javascript in my page to change the source of the IFrame, the blue bar in Internet Explorer starts moving as if it's loading. The problem is, the blue bar never finishes even after the page has completed loading. And yes, I am 110% certain the page has completed loading (including all js stuff). ...

I have a DataGrid in a web form (ASP1.1, C#, VS 2003) that I'm trying to add some functionality to, and I can't figure out how to do int. The existing DataGrid has several databound columns and a Template Columns, into which I put buttons. When the user clicks on the 'Do It' button, the selection is recorded in an underlying database, and (almost) everything is fine. One thing I would like to improve in the existing version concerns...

Hello All, I have couple of doubts regarding the concept of on-demand javascript loading using javascript code. I could see on the net different techniques for achieving this - techniques like: 1. document.write("<script src= language='JavaScript'></script>); 2. sc = document.createElement("<script>"); sc.setAttribute("src", ); and append this to the head

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
