Table Editing Tool

Does anyone know of an asp.net general purpose table editing tool that will
allow users to add modify and delete data?

Thanks,
T

"general purpose" editing tool" is different than a "table editing tool".
Tables are specific things in HTML. So a "general purpose table editing
tool" is a sort of oxymoron. That's probably why nobody's responding yet.

Do you just mean that you want to enable users to edit text? Regardless,
that's the closest you're going to get.

Here's one I use that's pretty good (it's not free but is full-featured):
http://www.cutesoft.net/example/general.aspx
You can enable and disable all of the buttons and insert/program your own
buttons - thereby restricting what users can do (perhaps to manipulating
HTML tables if that's what you're after), as well as adding features not
already supported by the editor.

There are free ones as well.
You can google "dhtml text editor" and you'll get a variety to choose from.

To modify and delete data? MS Access is the closest thing you'll find to any
"general purpose" tool.

But it's generally considered bad practice for many good reasons to use MS
Access as the front end to a SQL Server database and table.

The best thing you can do here is be much more specific about what you are
trying to accomplish and why. Maybe there is better advice we can give. You
posted this question in an ASP.NET news group. Presumably you are working
with a Web application and not a desktop application.

I like to announce you the product X2U, avaible under http://www.lumrix.net/x2. X2U is an acronym for "XML to user". Existing XML editors still ignore the fact that users don't want to read XML markup. Our view is: Not users have to align to XML, but XML has to align to users. X2U allows users tp fill out simple web forms, which are automatically derived from XML models. The XML model provides the XML structure and an interface...

I'm writing a fair amount of XML docs atm, and I'm curious if anyone has seen a decent xml docs editor(for editing the actual files)? Ideally something that would load an assembly and allow you to edit\create an xml file for it. I've not seen a tool capable of this. Writing one shouldn't be difficult, I just don't want to do it if a solution already exists.

i have a (hopefully) small problem. i have created a system where a user enters customer information into a table through a form. this table has no primary key. there are 9 fields on the form to be filled in, one of which is a date field. right now, i've been using this db myself and have entered only 10 days of sample data to check my calculations but i realized that there may be times when i need to add a record that was missed that...

Hi, I capture data from an none db source using perl and then every night I load the mysql table with the new data. Can someone explain to me the best way to do that? It takes 30 minutes or more to load the data, so I want to store it in a temporary table and then load it into the permanent table without losing the characteristics of the DB.

Hi, Does anoone of you know if there is already a simple application doing something like this. I would enhance / tune the missing features, but would like to avoid to start from scratch or to start from something, that has far too many features and is difficult to setup.

Hi all, Without opening a HUGE can of worms, I just wanted to get some ideas of what others are using professionally to create websites commercially. For years I had used Homesite and never migrated to Dreamweaver or ColdFusion. My limited abilities notwithstanding, I have moved to FrontPage 2000 (forget validation) and now to MS Publisher. Am I essentially bringing a knife to a gun fight here? I have a very limited budget and want to...

I am working on a database that will be used for tracking employee activity based on projects and weeks consumed. So I need a table for the EMPLOYEES (Name, ID, Role, etc.) and one for PROJECTS (ProjectID, Name, etc.). Basically I need to emulate an Excel spreadsheet already in existence which lists something like the below: Employee: Jane Livensen April 2-8 April 9-15 April 16-22 Project: Area 19...

I need to do some sort of Locking mechanism at interface level, instead of DB Level. I know how MySQL table locking works, but that won't work in my scenerio. I don't want another user to have pulled the same case and one of them clicks Update or Save before the other. So the case is locked for...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
