Web Calendar

Is it possible to span / display a graphic in the web calendar control that spans more than one cell / day? Does anyone have an example of this?
Thanks

Hi Peter,

Welcome to ASP.NET newsgroup.
As for the asp.ne webform Calendar, it is actually a normal html table with
table rows and table cells. So the background image is limited to the HTML
model. In HTML, we can only specify background image for single table,
tabrow or table cell rather than spaning multi table cells. So currently we
can not make background image span discretionary cells. Is it ok that we
just specify bg image for table row or divide the image into multi parts
so as specify them for individual cells?

Thanks,

Steven Cheng

Thank you for your help!

I want to display a graphic like in Outlook calendar when you create an event that spans more than one day there's a bar across all of the days that the event spans.

How would I divide an image into multi parts?

If your time is worth something, you can just purchase a calendar that already does this. Check it out here:
http://www.quickwebsoft.com/EventCal...tCalendar.aspx

If you have more time than money - then you could just analyze how they do it by disecting their demo calendar.

Hi Peter,

For your scenario, I think the buildin WebCalendar control seems a bit to
simple since it only provide basic functionalities . Also, for developing a
event Calendar, I think you can consider using background color or other
web html color style settings to format each table cell( for the days
within the certain event). For example, the asp.ne calendar control has the
DayRender event, we can set some certain Day Cell's background color to a
hightligtht color.
In addition, as Jordan mentioned, you can also have a look at some existing
3rd party custom Event Calendar controls.

Thanks,

I realy like the EventCalendar control and the price is realy cheap for all of the functionality you get.
