Please check your set up.
This plesently cordal and verbose error is greeting me in
a very random and unpredictable way in a current VB .NET
stand alone project I am doing (some times the program
runs for 10 minutes, other times, I get the error right
away).
Has anyone seen this error in a VB.Net program? Any

I have an existing application that has been installed and running for several months. I recently made a minor change to this application. When the application is installed on the user machine and then run, I get the following error:

Please check your setup.
The application was installed on a Windows XP SP2 machine.
I have un-installed the .NET Framework 1.1 and latest hot-fix...

Hi,
I have written an application in VB.Net which runs well on my development
PC. However on a few clients machines, at apparently random intervals, they
get the above message and the programme crashes out. The error isn't
occurring during set-up, but during use of the programme.
I am having trouble trapping for this as I don't know what it means and
therefore what might be causing it.
As far as I know, I am not using any resource files...

Hi,
I have a .NET Windows Forms application, written in VB.NET and C#.
I am opening a URL from the application using Process.Start(). The URL
points to a java servlet running on apache-tomcat.
For some users the application shows an error dialog with following
information. Another very interesting observation is that it's sending a lot
of requests to the servlet within no time. Please note that this is not
happening for all users.

Hi,
I try to develop a localized Asp.Net 1.1 application. I have added two
resource files to my app, which are called 'Labels.resx' and
'Labels.de.resx'. If I compile the app, I see a 'de' subfolder in my
'bin' folder and the folder contains the resource dll.
Accessing the german strings does not work. After a lot of debugging I
managed to get fuslogvw.exe to work and got a result like this:

development machine, and doesn't happen on every client machine, and not
even consistantly on any
particular client machine, just sort of randomly.
when the app loads a message box comes up saying 'Setup Error' in he title.
in the body it says "failed to load resources from resource file please
check your setup". and it has an ok button..

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
