Adding a control to a localized ASP .NET 2.0 application

Hi,
I am using VS 2005 Beta, to build a localized web-application. I think it
works very well to generate the strings in the resource editor, for the
default language that is. To add a second language I copy the generated
resx-file, and rename it to WebForm1.aspx.s v-se.resx to hold my swedish text.
Here is the problem:
When a new control is to be added to the form I only get a new row in my
resx-file for the default language, when I regenerates the local resource. No
rows are created in my swedish resx-file. Do I realy have to copy the rows
from my default language resx-file to the swedish one? If this is the case I
don't see any big imporvements from the earlier versions of VS.

I think I know, more or less, how you develop a localized application, but I am confused as to what should be distributed with it. For example, suppose I have MyProject, the basic language of which is English (en). MyProject is also localized in French (fr) and German (de). What exe/dll files should the users have on their computers in order to use all three languages, and should these files be in a particular folder structure? thanks

Is it possible to have a web service name in localized string. Let's say, can I have a web service developed in C# having class name in Japanese? I am trying to build a web service as follows namespace Test2 { /// <summary> /// Summary description for Service1.

When programming reads of the Windows Registry, do the registry keys and values need to be localized for international use? For example, do I need to convert the key name L"\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows" into Japanese, Korean, etc., for use in those markets? Thanks experts!

I'm trying to understand how VS 2005 and the .NET Framework 2.0 can be used for a localized application. I've read a lot of messages, posts and guides but I can find a straight answer. I would like to write a DLL library, but I think it'll contain also some forms. I'd like to add a global resx file for all the error messages and a resource file for each form. This can be done very easily with VS2005. Then I can add a resource file for each...

I have a basic user control that I want to localize. I created a global resource and connected up the properties I want to localize using an explicit localization expression. Everything works great, I can even see the localized text in design time when I am viewing the control. When I look at the page the control sits on at design time however I can't see the localized text. It's like the control's localization expression isn't being...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
