Since I am Swedish, I write website content mostly in Swedish language
and using charset iso-8859-1. I have (just for testing) tried to use
utf-8 on a test page ( http://w1.978.telia.com/~u97802964/test.html )
but the special Swedish characters don't come out right if I dont use
entities for them.
The Swedish characters in question is:
Latin letter a with ring above = å ()
Latin letter a with diaeresis = ä ()

Hi there. I've written a simple program that makes a simple GET form
with a text input box and displays $_GET when submitted.
Using Windows Character Map, I pasted in the Cyrillic capital "Ya" (the
backward R) and it came out as "Я". So far so good.
Then I sent in " Я" (The is the Cyrillic character again.)
That came out as "Я Я". How can I please tell the
difference between the Cyrillic and the character sequence '&', '#',

Presently, when I add a new webform to asp.net project and begin
filling out the content of the form, I am getting additional characters
added to the HTML which appears in the HTML editor of the .NET IDE.
The characters (such as ? or the strange windows box) appear throughout
the document. If I remove the character, it disappears but then
re-appears next time I switch between "Design" and "HTML".
I am guessing it has something to do...

I am trying to set the "backcolor" property in fields in a form. It sets okay using a macro (setvalue). But when I close the form, the property settings revert back to what they were before I closed the form. So when I reopen the form, the settings are not changed. I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
